Salaam.

I keep bringing this up and we all know the importance of Fajr (though we could do with reminders)

I heard that some of you brothers and sisters set up little networks to call eachother to ensure waking up for Fajr. I was thinking of something similar because the masjids in my area are kind of empty. Also some of my friends who I want to help/make sure they praying but cant bring myself to do it (is checking suspicion?). And, the other day, someone who I really didnt expect told me they were missing Fajr for the past few days, subhanAllah.

First family and friends, then community level inshaAllah.

Just a few q's:
1) How do you do it? One to one caller? One to many? many to many?

2) Chain calling (each person calling the next), what if someone breaks it? Is this even a good idea?

3) How do we get passed the admitting one's faults? I can see that as we were taught to strive against those who do not establish Salah there must be some public element (namely, masjid jamaat), right? But nowadays people are quite happy with fully justifying just praying at home.

Its a bit different in that Fajr is absolutely Fard and therefore its not so much a 'secret' good deed.

4) I wanna make it very grassroots, to encourage many groups of friends to do it; something that has proved workable would be greatly appreciated.

5) Is it suitable to keep anonymity? Could exchange numbers without names. a little odd though.

I havent yet done anything yet so need advice...
Looking forward to your replies.

JazakAllah khair brothers and sisters.

Salaam

I think this is a good idea, BUT i don't think you should give out random numbers and if you do it should be only to the same gender. Fitnah can come from something small as this

brother: :salams :jkk: for waking me up your so kind mashAllah what a brother would do for a wife like you.

sister: hehe no problem, same time tomorrow and then it evolves into something else... and so on we get the picture blah blah

Me and a couple of mates do it, it's not so advanced or systematic.... we usually just send each other a txt or ring them until they reject the call so you know they have woken up.

We usually ring once when we wake up then ater doing your wudu or after praying to ensure they didn't doze off again.

That's it really.

Buying an Adhan clock would be a lot less complicated, imo. It works well for me.

:wswrwb: nice idea, :jkk: amin how about the brothers who live close enough calling on each other on the way to the masjid for fajr so they can walk/drive there together insha Allah, or arrange to meet bros at the masjid for fajr maybe it will encourage them to attend insha Allah, as its an obligation for men to pray in the masjid in congregation. The sisters can phone each other to wake each other up as they get more blessings for praying at home alhamdulillah.
