And what would you look for in your partner, this applies to both brothers and sisters.

also the question about cooking and cleaning also applies to sisters, incase you would want you hubby to know how to cook and clean, comes handy when your pregnant and not living with in- laws, or far from home :-)

and with the immigration status, i once had an illegal immigrant come round...... and my mum was considering it...... i tol dher it was a no go! lol

- Practising (in a comprehensive sense- not only a 5x namazi)
- Considerate
- Independent
- Has to accept I have a disability and be able to adjust to that
- Should have qualities that would make him acceptable to my parents (but they're fairly lenient mashallah)
- Oh yeah the immigration thing too; sorry but no freshies

- Fully practicing (perhaps, already on the way to growing a beard)
- The above should come with the quality of "Islamically knowledgeable"; i.e. I'd like for him to teach me things and vice versa.
- Someone who (like me) is hungry for knowledge, and has great etiquettes regarding seeking knowledge.
- Intelligent; philosophy and logic orientated
- Kind hearted; generous (not just to me), soft (but not a push over)
- Of good mannerisms along with being respectful
- Someone who doesn't give up (should come along with being a good Muslim :D )
- Isn't passive or dismissive; is generally patient and understanding - doesn't get bored, agitated, or disinterested fast. I'd like to be able to speak to him all the time for long periods, on anything, and he can have an intelligent input, or attempt to understand; but not feel the need to have to understand and thereon become of bad character as he may make things up, LoL.

And nope, I wouldn't spend all of his time, as I would hope he understands that I will sometimes need time to myself. Like I'm extremely scared about getting married because I am so independent - I hate having responsibilities in regards to people (not that I neglect my responsibilities, and nor do I ask for much really); I just like being free and able to think.

Oh, and for the poll options, I picked:

- Practising (in the full sense)
- Beard (acceptable, if he is newly growing a beard)
- Patience
- Immigration status (I like security; depends what country and how hard it is for him to come here :D )

* I may be prepared to move, depending on what country, and what I feel when I am at the age in which I wish to get married at.

Practicing is key, because it affects the entire outlook on the person. If he is practicing, he'll have a beard and he'll know how to care for his future wife. If she is practicing, she'll wear the hijab and she'll know how to care for her future husband. They'd try to always be patient with one another, because they want to please Allah. She'll cook for her husband, because she knows it makes him happy. He'll cook for her, because he wants to be romantic. They'll be naturally good looking, because of the noor they emit.

*sigh* I want someone like that inshallah....the guy portion, not the girl.

Just for everyone to keep in mind. There is no "Mr Perfect". There is however "Mr Right". Someone who is right for you is not necessarily right for another person.

I think the intent of the question is whether she would be willing to do housework or not. You don't necessarily need to have a practical demonstration. If you had a demonstration for each quality then the interview might take so long that you would be dead before you got married.

-Practising (enough to be able to help and build up an islamic family).

-Cooking and cleaning standard;) as i'll be the breadwinner, though i'll do me bit as well.

-Hijabi/Jilbabi/Niqaabi, don't mind but it's mainly the character i'd be looking at.

-Patience is a biiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiig thing!!!

-Additional, she has to be healthy and active, i'ma make her walk miles with me when i go on my adventures, in quick time as well, :torture:

What does niqab have to do with polygamy

Go away :torture:, i already have enough problems to deal with.

assalam...it is very harsh to hear 'go away'...anyone did not never harm me with comments like yours,i am exactly not used these words,i invite you a bit respect.....i just wanted to indicate u reject niqaab as you believe that it prevents dawah of Islam or like that even although you mention polygamy,so you are in paradoxical condition...did you get what i mean exactly,i am not sure!!!

Sis I am sure he did not mean it that way so dont be offending . We all are brothers and sisters in Islam. Hugo is not against the niqab. He just said in the west women face difficulties wearing the niqab so he wouldn't want his wife to wear one. He is not against it. He is actually with it but fears his wife's safety. He does have a point to be concerned. Some areas people get verbally and physically abused for being covered. We all have different opinions to share. :)

assalamu alaikum ukhtee, hayyakellah for ur common sense,i always sympathetically try to understand someones whoever they are,i believe firstly husn zaan is essential for moslems...but there were some inappropriate thoughts which were not based on neither aqeedah nor fiqh and so on...but when these ones can not reply with proof,so they try to harm with rude words and comments...i am away them,if i encountered more than one like that person here,i never have not been here,it is very shameful...anyway,this thread was spoilt...Allahumma ighferlanaa...

I have just deleted half of this thread for the age old reason of people posting off-topic and randomly, yet again, showing no respect for the thread starter who may have started it with good intention.

I see we have some of the same suspects involved yet again.

Anymore posts - random or off-topic- each person will be infracted and this thread closed.
