I remember you saying that you have some of these plants...I think there was a thread about it:scratch:

They only eat insects right and nothing else? Like no "real" meat?:nervous:

They eat whatever fits in their mouth. Heck, this plant can eat baby lizards.

Also, if I have a cut or something, I occasionally drip some of the blood into their traps. It's like fertilizer.

Yes, nothing happens. The juice inside their traps is filled with enzymes and acids that desolves their prey down to a fertilizer-like mixture that is then reabsorbed by the plant.

It doesn't try to eat me because the traps are only 3 inches tall.

The others are doing semi-good. They're growing, but they're not as doing as good as they should. It's too hot here in Florida. It's 90 degrees in the shade, so their soil gets really hot and their roots get cooked. I might have to grow them in a shadier place.

But yes, I feed myself to the plants occasionally. Like I trim my toenails and feed the nails to the plants (they love the calcium)

This reminded of the movie I watched when I was in grade school. It was called Little Shop of Horror I think. You have a harmless carnivorous plant and one day you end up feeding it chopped up human body parts. I hope it doesn’t come to that.

The plant was $21.00. However, it's just a baby at about an inch across. On ebay, full grown plants have been seen to fetch up to $150.00.

I'll try and upload some pics of it by the end of the week, inshallah.

I've never actually seen those in Oz.
I'm guessing they are mainly in the rainforest regions of Queensland.

I've seen a lot of similar plants in Malaysia though. I knew them as, "Monkey Cups".

venus flytraps and a couple of different pitcher plants but they are kept indoors. I'm thinking more likely it's the lack of humidity in the winter here

You should try growing them again. I think you're able to grow them outdoors.
