View Full Version : Killing insects
It's that wonderful time of the year- It's Summer and all the creepy crawlies are coming out from Allah (swt) knows where. My question is: are we allowed to kill insects if they are in our house?

Kill 'em only if they are harmful or they look scrumptious.

roaches and ants are going all around your kitchen, they aren't harming you, meaning we can't kill them? They are pests, of course you can kill them. They don't belong in your house. If a lion comes into my house and doesn't harm me, im not gonna let it sit there >.>

I would. I'd just run out of the house and hope that the lion doesn't chase me.
As for Ants, don't kill them. Just pick them up and take them outside. I don't like spiders, because they follow me. So if they are near my bed, I'd just get my dad or my brothers to take it outside. If there is a fly, don't kill it. They only live for a week, so have mercy! Just calmly take it outside. If there is a bee, do the same thing.
There is no point in killing them, just take them outside and inshallah you'll get reward for it.

I'm talking about a infestation, not 1 lonely ant. If it was one ant I would keep it as a pet, but if there are like 100s of them...

Take a Sugar Cube or a chocolate piece on a small paper plate. Most of the ants will be attratced towards it and settle there. Finally throw the paper plate.
In my faith, we are not allowed to kill insects as far as possible. So we use the above method and works for ants.

Try to seal your house properly, so no ants from outside can get in. Then make sure your house is cool, since ants tend to come out in warmer weathers. Also, make sure you don't have any food outside. If that doesn't help, then I guess you can buy Raid, or another ant killer product.
I have ants inside my house too. But if you keep the food away, they won't come in as much.

Well, I suppose the best offense is a good defense
I don't kill insects at all, I don't have any right to take their life.

if you live in bangladesh and if you leave a sugar cube and a piece of chocolate like that, first the regular ants will settle there, then the army ants will settle there. after all the ants in your household settles there, all the ants from your neighbour’s house will come to ‘settle’ there. in no time you will have an ant hive thriving at your home.
