Stick a clove at the back of your mouth...tastes nasty but very good for dental pain.
Alternatively, apply a little clove oil on a cotton wool piece and stick that on the area.
I have just one more to go :hidban:
I have all 4 to look forward to :( lol
May Allah (swt) ease your pain bro. Ameen

may Allah :Swt: relieve you from your pain Akhi and make it a means of purification for you Aameen!
I'm guessing the clove doesn't disappear/dissolve lol so maybe just leave it there to help pain as long as possible and if taste gets too 'eww' lol then replace with another?

Salam bro,
sounds like a painful infection, you should go on a course of antibiotics to kill the infection off
amoxicillin works well unless ur allergic in which case they may prescribe you erythromycin these are both broad spectrum antibiotics
if the infection is severe it would be beneficial to also go on a course of metranidazole which is stronger and helps kill off the more virulent bacteria which lead to this type of infection
rinsing for 30sec to 1minute with warm salty water, simply add two spoons of salt to warm water, after your main meals so ideally after breky, lunch and dinner
the warm salty water will help to reduce the swelling
in most cases with wisdom teeth it isnt the tooth but the gum which causes the pain, the gum acts as a little pocket and is an ideal food trap which bacteria break down and cause infection
sometimes an upper wisdom tooth can be biting on the gum exacerbating matters
it is important to try and spend extra time brushing around the gum area to reduce the risk of infection on the back wisdom tooth
lower wisdom teeth generally require surgery however if lower wisdom teeth are removed the upper opposing wisdom tooth if present is also removed as it will not be involved in chewing and can overgrow with time leading to further problems
if the upper wisdom tooth is in fact exacerbating symptoms it would be wise to have this removed, begine a good preventative regime in cleaning the lower wisdom tooth esp around and under the gum using a scooping action with your toothbrush
if successful you will avoid surgery and save the tooth
of note upper wisdom teeth are generally very straight forwards to remove and heal very quickly too
hope this is of help
may Allah help alleviate your symptoms inshallah
best painkillers to take are ibuprofen/neurofen as they are analgesic aswell as being anitinflammatory you can alternate with paracetamol this works well
however if badly infected the painkillers wont do much so give the antibiotics 48hours to kick in and symptoms will ease inshallah
be a good idea to go see your dentist

Wolfy please...
Sometimes nothing will help. Not even strong prescription pain-killers which I can attest to.
I too had excruciating pain a month ago as the infection from mine, went all the way through to my sinuses and started created *severe* headaches as well. And i mean severe! I couldn't even sleep lying down for days.
You need to book in for an extraction methinks. As horrifying as it may sound, it was the best thing I did. The dentist mashaAllah even allowed me time to make du'a before he proceeded and was incredibly gentle. I love him!!!
My wisdom tooth woes made me appreciate a good night's sleep which now I don't take foregranted alhamdulillah.
Anyways pain is good. It means you're being cleansed here in the Dunya.

Oops, Asiya is right. If there is an infection, you need anti-biotics before he can remove the tooth I think. The longest 2 weeks in my life...
I had a course of 2 as my case was very bad.

I had the same problem a couple of months ago, my jaw partially locked (couldn't open it wide enough to eat anything that needed chewing!).
I just soaked a few cotton balls in benzocaine and clamped them in the back of my gums. Reapplied it every few hours.
Was ok after a few weeks.
I have heard of these people called "dentists" though...

JazakAllahu khayr everyone.
I tried the clove didn't work, been taking pain killers which have relived the pain. Pain has actuallly gone down, but my jaw is still locked, can't open to eat have been using straw and my throat hurts too which means I can't swallow things. I can see some swelling on my face :S
insha'Allah will call dentist later, see what he says.

and i agree with what teoma said, get it taken care of asap akhi, inshaa Allah
yeah most pharmacies have clove oil. Any that you don't use on your tooth, you can add to a pot of simmering water and it will make a nice scent in your house

Usually health shops sells all kind of weird stuff - clove oil must be in abundance there :p

I'll try hollands and barrats.
How can it burn your face? You wouldnt apply it directly to the tooth anyway, but soak a cotton wool ball in the oil, and then bite down on it.
It should look like this: http://www.dentalshop.co.uk/acatalog/Clove_Oil.html
Well, it looks serious.
Why don't you try some injections to soothe the pain? There might be some kinda injections for this purpose. Ask the dentist.

bro, have you been eating too much fried food or have not been sleeping enough or not drinking enough water...? your yin yang is off balance... need more 'cooling' food... like cucumber, vitamin c drinks like leomanade, barley drink with lemon, etc to bring down the heatiness in your body, which will help to bring down the swell around the molar...

Hey I used to work in a pharmacy and we sold clove oil! :p In fact it was quite common for people to come in and buy it for toothache!
Anyway wisdom teeth are not all doom and gloom lol, most wisom teeth will give you trouble for about 7-10 days...what else do you expect! A huge molar coming through your hard gum...look how babies cry when theirs come through lol...of course its gonna be painful :p But the pain should subsie, just try and put up with it, an see it through cos it will pass!
I have 2 wisdom teeth, but alhamullillah I have space for them...if the other 2 wanted to come through, there would be space for them too (between last molar and end of jaw) so if you haven't got the space then yes pain will be worse than usual and you will prolly have to get it extracted.
I remember chewing pieces of ice to help numb the pain when mine was coming through lol...also make sure you eat, even if its chicken soup through a straw, no point getting weak and feeling worse! Take a few days off work, relax at home an pain the pain will soon pass! :)

Oh yes, that should be true. With slow, painful process men gain wisdom, which is relatively painless for women.
