How do you know if your nose is broken or damaged?
Should it hurt alot when you touch it or what?

I cant be bothered to go hospital right now, so i thought this would be the next best thing:o

Wa Alaikum Asalam Wa Rehamatullahi Wa Barakhatahu dear brother in Islam. I hope your nose isnt broken Insha'ALLAH but here are some of the symptoms of a broken nose:

- Tenderness when touching the nose
- Swelling of the nose or face
- Bruising of the nose or under the eyes (black eye)
- Deformity of the nose (crooked nose)
- Nosebleed
- When touching the nose, a crunching or crackling sound or sensation
like that of rubbing hair between 2 fingers
- Pain and difficulty breathing out of the nostrils

I would recommend you go accident and emergency Insha'ALLAH. They wont take that long Insha'ALLAH as they can check to see if its broken or not. Usually when someone breaks thier nose alot of water comes from thier eyes too, from what i have seen. If its broken, they might have to put it back in position. how did that happen ? or shouldnt i ask...i`ve had my nose busted a few times from a smack in the face from a fist and a door, yes it hurts a lot and feels very bruised and throbs a lot especially if u touch it, you`ll probably have a couple of black eyes the next day too theres not much they can do for u, unless its totally collapsed audu billah and u cant breathe properly then u should go get it looked at. but otherwise just get loads of ice in a cloth and hold it on to take the swelling down, u might end up with a bump or like fais said a slightly different shaped nose the bridge might be wider, but other than that insha Allah it wont be a problem for u, (third time i got headbutted it actually put my nose back again alhamdulillah so the bump was ironed out flat again, i wouldnt recommend that though ;))

only one time i hurt my nose was i riding the bike coming to a wall fast and i pulled the brake but it didnt work so the front tyre hit the wall and my face smacked on the wall. my nose was hurt and it was sore as hell

I remember once i was at the airport and i dropped a coin on the floor. Without even looking i went down to pick it up and hit my lip against the suitcase trolley, so it started bleeding! I have since learnt to be more careful Insha'ALLAH... :)

BRO If you have any cause to believe your nose is damaged , then you MUST MUST go and visit the HOSPITAL, and at the very least the doctor, IMMEDIATELY.
Why take any risk at all on such a delicate and vital part of your FACE and function.

Your Body is an Amanah given to you from Allah, when it testifies against you, telling Allah that you didn't take care of it..will you answer the reckoning by saying.."I couldn't be bothered" :rubeyes: Okay :rolleyes: ...so it might not seem so big of an injury, but you don't know until you have it checked..how can posting on Ummah about it be the next best thing :smack:

my advice to you Akhi, get it checked out ASAP :(..then even if it was completely useless, at least you've done what you should have and taken precautionary steps to ensure that it wasn't something that could be fatal etc

Nah Alhamdulilah its fine now because it doesnt hurt or anything and plus it didnt bleed that much, it just swelled a bit but nothing major and looks fine alhamdulilah. Jazakallah khayr to you all.

My local hospital takes AGES when it comes to A and E so like by the time i get there and wait for someone to see me blah blah, its actually much quicker to go on ummah and find out :o
