Im due an upgrade for my mobile phone contract after like AGGGGGGGGGGGESS!! N i needed my fellow ummah bros/sis' help. I dont know what phone to get? Any recommendations??? I want something which can store alot of mp3, and does anyone know of any good contract deals???

I got the sony ericsson k850i, its a pretty cool phone, has a lot of memory which i won't be using since i already own an ipod, picture quality is good with a 5mp cam, but i think the contract was even better. It was with orange, i was going to quit but they manage to bribe me back in with more goodies, as a student i get 700 mins roll over to next month if i dont use it, 1000 texts, some magic numbers (get to call other orange peeps for free unlimited time) and some free browse time. Couldn't complain much.:inlove:

The phone itself, i like it, it's pretty funky, you have to get used to it at the beginning, it has some sensors close to the screen which initially gets a bit fiddly as your trying to press ok, load up menu or go back kind of thing but after a while it becomes 6th sense to you. It has a different layout compared to my two previous phones, it has a different layout with a little side bar.

The picture quality is top notch, i have a pic of an ice cream milkshake somewhere around here where you can see the quality and then the movie quality is nice as well. Overall its a nice well rounded phone, though im sure theres better, but this one suits my need.

I managed to get these things replaced under the warranty though - after a lot of arguing with carphone warehouse branch near me I went to a branch further away and got it sorted in a matter of minutes.

depends personally its between the nokias and the sony, ive always preferred the sony. You want something which stores a lot of mp3 so the w series for sony are ideal for you as thats what they are designed for, plus there headphones are generally quite sick.

Oh my days,... DO NOT get the w580i... Firstly because as its an upgrade u can get a much more latest phone as this one is almost a year old now.. Secondly because its the worst phone you could possibly get... I had it on contract when it first came out back in August last year, and i had it replaced 3 times... the buttons which were made from some crappy plastic would crumble off, and this happened on all 3 replaements, and also there was some problem with the software on the phone, so it would be a nightmare using it at times... i then later just upgraded to the w910i...

There are so many better phones out right now, depends on what u are actually looking for... Theres a new walkman phone out, the w350i, if you really want a sony walkman phone then thats the latest one, looks quite nice too

Depending on what you would do with your phone. I use Blackberry Curve 8310 for office use (its a nice PDA phone with superb internet/email capability) and Sony Ericsson w960i (8GB) for personal use.

A bit of both actually, the signal strength is governed by the network, mast postions etc, but some phones are better than others with picking up and locking on in poor quality coverage areas.

Hmm..have ye upgraded yet? Sony Ericssons are the most fun, I agree (but as miss Neurofen pointed out that walkman phone is old) get k850i or newer model because alot of the walkman phones are missing a few good features. Thats good, the fone looks quite nice, but make sure if you detect any problems you take it straight back, coz sony ericsson are quite known for having software problems etc on their phones... Yeah most phones need to be FULLY charged before you use them, well they dont NEED to but you should else your battery will start dying out quick

Yup pop in store tomorrow and see if they will excahnge it, they should do, if they start being iffy just be stern with them and tell them that you know you are entitled to change it, and just threaten to cancel your contract, which you can also do within 7 or 14 days of purchase...

the button in the centre isn't a "roll" one sis..its just flatly shaped like that :p and you just tend to use it by pressing on it anyway..as you would with a button. :) I thought I'd hate the buttons as well, as my previous phones were all big button phones :p and with this one they're tiny..but Alhamdulillah I quite like it regardless :D

Edit: oh and the only problem I've had with it, is it comes with a 256 MB memory card..which is relatively small :o so yeah I've had to get a bigger sized one...
