That's a clever simile and, yes, it get the point across... made me smile too.
I hope non-hijabis won't find it insulting, because this is a very delicate topic, but never a "personal" attack:up:

Im not sure if the picture is a good analogy.
While i like the concept of the covered/uncovered sweet representing the hijaab etc, i find the fact that the flies represent the men is misleading.
Is that to say that all men are like flies (and we all know what flies do - hover around poo).
I find that quite insulting towards men. :(
It's like saying all men are like flies that hover around poo.

Salaams,
I think it is a good analogy of Hijab. Its really quite clever :p gave me a good giggle
Although, I dont agree that it degrades men. Its all part of the comparison and I have seen men portrayed as alot worse. If its going to go that far then you might as well say that it degrades women as well by comparing them to a lolli  but it doesnt, its mildly *tongue and cheek* so the whole degradation thing is just like

That was what I first wondered when I saw the image too. It does look a bit demeaning to depict men like that, but then again, if you ever went shopping in Faisalabad- you'd feel that the analogy fits perfectly:o

I don't get it. Are non-hijabi's filthy, degraded, worthless, not as good as hijabi's? If this is the message then it's insulting and unintelligent.
I think that's a very good analogy.
No good allergories came from people like Plato, like his cave. This is just insulting.

what the picture is saying is that when you dont wear hijab, you get hassled by pervs and "romeos" and when you wear hijab its a barrier, between them and you and 90% of the time you wont get hassled like you would if you didnt wear it.
..that said i would like to know what the arabic writing says...!

So 90% of women who don't wear headscalfes get hassled by pervs? This is far from the truth to say that if you just wear a Hijab there would be less rapes, sexual harrassment etc. It would still happen.

acctually hijaab protects women from harrisment and while rapes still happen in islamic countries the rate in a conservative islamic country like saudi arabia where nearly every women is covered is considerably lower than in a western country like the UK where women are raped and sexually harrassed all the time, many kufr women take it as part of being a woman and expect some level of sexual harrisment at work or university.

some Hijabi girls here get harassed almost as much as the non Hijabis
that's because they think that Hijab is just about the scarf
but hijab = scarf + attitude
a scarf alone do nothing....

IMO they do yes, they get stared at, *double takes*
whistled at
Jibes made as they walk past etc etc.
Yes it does still happen but at a much reduced rate or none at all.
yes al-nasser, hijab with a facial expression like your wanna knock someone out, works most times.

Actually you do realise some women will get harassed because of the Hijab? Also it's not a guarentee that they won't and to say that all non-muslim women attract these sorts of men because they exercise autonomy in not wearing one is wrong.

They get whistled at? What is this 1960's building site? And if they do get whistled, did the worls stop turning for that split second?

The Picture is a Good analogy, because beauty exposed attracts Pervs and other filth mongers ... not all men ...
concealed it prevents many from feasting upon the sisters ...
The Flies represent the Perverts ... since every man is not going to feast upon the sisters, it is not correct to assume that a fly or a few flies = every man ...

You misunderstood me Akhi,
when I said they get corrupted due to Women, I meant they get corrupted when they see Beautiful women, (wasn't saying it's the Women who make them corrupt)
every soul is responsible for its own actions, there is no passing the buck in Al-Islam,
Ahumdulillah,
also part of the blame lies with the women for exposing their beauty,
I can't for example expose all my money, and Jewels and when it gets Stolen blame it all on the Thief, If I had any sense I would have hid, concealed them from prying eyes ...

As you can see in the picture, flies don't just hover around poo :p
And the flies aren't just supposed to represent 'men', in fact they just represent haraam, be it the haraam of mixing/flirting with other men, wearing revealing or inappropriate clothes, or whatever a woman may be inclined to do without her hijaab in comparison to with (now of course there are those out there who wear hijaab and sleep around having bfs etc, which goes to show that the hijaab is not just a cover via a cloth but a cover from certain behaviours that are not allowed in Islam).

the image has a good way of explaining how the hijab protects a woman and men to some extent
wearing the hijab covers a womans beauty, if no1 can see the extent of her beauty, they are going2 be concentrating fully on what the woman is SAYIN and not jus what she LOOKS like

I think a non-hijabi would get offended by that. If I was to advice someone, i would be soft and nice with them.

do u mean me? if so i dint mean to be harsh
i jus meant that men wouldnt have a choice as to look at the extent of a womans beauty, if she wears hijab
if the woman doesnt wear hijab then her beauty if there to be seen (not in a rude way!)
and i dont think the image is sayin that the woman without hijab is rotten but wil be affected by the men. As in she wil attract more men with her beauty
i knw it varies but im jus stating from a general outlook

Hijab means headscarf only or not? Because there are a lot of muslimahs that wear headscarf and only this... Their other clothes are not related to Islam... They wear colourful clothes, sometimes tight clothes, sometime they wear trousers ect..They look like androits... You know robot-human mix... Thus muslim-kafir mix..

this doesn't make any sense, Next we'll have someone saying (a Person wearing Clothes which are clearly Haraam), saying that a Persons Imaan can't be Judged by clothes ... and trying to justify wearing them ... :smack:
Yes a persons Imaan entails more than a Head and Body Covering, but last I checked It entailed Belief in the Quran ...
When the Quran says Cover yourself up, don't display your beauty except to the Mahrams, can a sister say she has Imaan while Rejecting an Obligatory command?
What is the state of those who Reject direct commands of their Lord but Hypocrisy? ...
