This is sad but kinda typical of our Ummah.

Sad because I have an Anglo revert friend happily married to a Mauritius brother. Go figure eh?

Well, we're ONE Ummah remember?

All your nationalist event does is reinforce the rather skewed view that marrying with your culture is the preferred way to go rather than just having it as Muslim marriage event.

I know of quite a few divorced couples - and they were all married within their own culture, and yet I know of quite a few successful marriages between couples from completely different cultures.

So yeah, it's sad that this disgusting disease called nationalism still pervades many cultural groups.

Happy hunting.

of course im not forcing anyone to marry within there own culture but you have to face the fact that most people do. this event is in conjuction with http://www.muslimmarriageevents.org/

with a list of other event focusing on all groups, reverts, disabiled. if for example you want to marry an indian muslim then you can go to that event regardless if your indian or not! The events are open to all to attend.

Songbird, I think this is the first time ever we've agreed.

P.S. I think of Tweety Bird whenever I see your display name

Kal, many a man has disagreed with me, but eventually my charm is too hard to resist, hence the burgeoning legion of fans, rep points, anonymous bouquets and so forth.

It's better not to fight it.

After my latest experience in Dubai? I think I'll pass.

Don't get me wrong, I don't mind a man clamouring for my affections but Indian men treat me like the next Aishwarya Rai.

How is a girl like me supposed to keep her ego in check with such attention? :o

Well, your sense of modesty has always been legendary, I suppose. Charm and wit on an Internet forum may get us rep points, and imaginary bouquet (insert flower smiley) s, but it doesn't get us a man (or woman) to spend our hours with rather than posting on a message board. If it did, we'd all have four wives with many more in reserve, and blood brothers fighting to the death to win our hand in marriage offering a limb and half.

It's very late here. Maybe that's why I find your post incoherent.

But thanks anyways for the compliment :inlove: But where's my rep point?

It must be late because it wasn't a compliment :rotfl: Anyway rep given. Ever seen the show Clueless? lol
