Sorry I was being random. I needed an answer to that and i was curious. I'm not a huge fan of RANDOM threads, and I really needed to know. I didn't want to ask in the QUESTIONS THREAD because its more about asking knowledgeable questions and like I said, I didn't want to create a new thread only about what the word meant. So, as noticing that this thread was simple and the discussion had already ended after the 3rd 4rd post I took the opportunity to ask the question here. Lo behold it was answered :fairy:
My darling..
Isn't that the female version? And the guys' version is habibi?
Sorry for derailing, just wanted to make sure LF didn't end up calling a guy habibati

yes you are right Hiking... Habib means darling (a male darling) Habiba means darling (a female darling) - the i suffix means my. bint means daughter/girl, binti means my daughter...... so habibi means my darling (speaking to/about a man) and habibati means my darling (speaking to/about a woman) but it gets "squashed" to habibti
btw it doesn't imply only romantic darling... a man can call another man habibi......
but don't do the typcially English thing of saying my habibi or my habibti cause thast saying "my my darling" lol

I thought Habibati meant sweetheart?
as far as i know and Allah knows best, habib means loved, so habibiti would translate into english as "my loved one " or maybe " my beloved" Allahu alam best ask to abu musab hes the expert alhamdulillah
