Hello Muslim friends,
God forbid, if you are going through rough times, and if your non muslim friends say that they will pray for you, what will be your reactions?

We have many threads asking for prayers regarding good health, exams etc. so I was just wondering.

Thanks,
L&P

P.S. This is a public poll

Let me make a correction to the First option ...

"Whosoever prays with good intentions seeking the purpose of his/her life, God All-mighty will Guide him/her"

prayers of Kaafirs are also answered by Allah, they only receive material gains it will benefit them naught in the world to come, unless they seek Guidance from Allah Ta'ala ...

this poll doesn't serve any real purpose except to gain some opinions ...

regards.

My question will be Who and what will they pray to and for?

if they pray to some Created being, or an object in creation, then that prayer is Worthless ...

Beneficial for the Muslims is the Good Dua's Supplications other Muslims make for them to their Lord, Allah Ta'ala, the creator of the Heavens and the Earth ...

Thanks for the answers,
What abt Buddhist prayers, which are not addressed to any being,
e.g.
may all beings have happiness, and the causes of happiness.
May all be free from sorrow, and the causes of sorrow.
May all never be separated from the sacred happiness

the same answer a Rock or a Piece of Wood or any Dead Human being cannot benefit anyone ...

The Above "Prayer" is merely a statement, it is not directed to anyone ...

can you tell me who it is that is supposed to answer this prayer?

I chose the second option.

I appreciate the intention, but if a catholic friend will pray Jesus AS for me, or Mary RA, or some saint or dead people that surely cannot help :(

If they are praying to "God the father" as they call it, which corresponds to Allah SWT then I really don't know. I would guess "no" because they believe Him as a part of a trinity...

Allahu 'alim.

As a Muslims, you may believe it will not help in the sense of true, spiritual assitance... but won't it help *you* to know that people care about you enough to spend time in prayer on your behalf?

That's always been my stance. I may believe that their prayers are, in essence, ineffectual as prayers, but their thought and time does me a world of good in my own emotions knowing that they care enough for me.

regards.Hey Raz

you clearly view God as a personal God who, so to say, only opens clearly-labeled letters specifically addressed to him...

In my view, God is not a specific person, rather a principle, co-identical with everything which exists.. how could you say in fact that God is separated from anything ?

So, he is also involved in our prayers, or thoughts, our intentions..;

I honestly wouldn’t care if they prayed for me or not. If they did, I would be grateful for the gesture and I would be thankful for it, as it is ultimately from Allah :Swt:

Nope God All-Mighty is jot a personal god, nor is he referred to as a God of a nation as in some other scriptures, the point made is that Which "God" is the prayer directed to, a Man? a Monkey? an Idol?

it is good that you have been banned ...
