I know student loans are haram, but how do i tell my parents i dont want to take one out? They're okay with me taking one out and dont see it as a major problem.
I need some advice on how to talk to them about it, or what i can do to get out of this mess. I've already applied for it aswell :(

sit your parents down and explain to them that you do not want to take one because it is haram, and that you do not want to incur the wrath of Allah :Swt: as you will be the one to answer for this, not them. However, it helps to be able to tell them your alternate plans for funding. And if you need a job, get one now and work fulltime if you must.

As for already having applied for it, they send you a confirmation letter so it's not too late if you have not received/signed/replied to this. And even then you could still try calling them up and telling them that you don't want it. Make sure you have a backup plan and are able to implement it immediately, and afterward don't make it out to be like such a big deal otherwise it will hang uncomfortably in the air.

And Allah :Swt: knows best

This is not a joking matter, its up to you my friend, and how serious you are about your religion.

Knowing that something is haraam, and acting upon it is a sign of a weak imaan, and could lead to nifaaq.

The thing is i know there is no way i can finance it myself..i have no time for a job now as soon i will be going away for a month, although i do intend to get one whilst im at uni, inshaAllah. Even still a job will barely cover it.

I just dont know what to say to them exactly.

riba - interest...it gains the wrath of Allah swt and causes lots of economic problems in the world. You don't want to wrath of Allah swt and don't want Allah swt to wage war on you. You don't want to be a part of those problems.

If you sacrifice for Allah swt sincerely, He will make a way out for you and provide for you from places you would never imagine.

I would just like some clarification. I have a student loan but I don't have to pay interest for six months when I'm done school. I work full time every summer in order to save up for when i am finished. Would this loan be considered Haram? I don't see why it would?
