i am a young male and i have a high hairline. it is taking over my life recently, i cant even look at myself, i can't imagine what others may think of me. i am absolutely desperate to lose this and am prepared to have a hair line operating procedure. i've spoken to the doctor, and he gave me two options. one was hair transplant. transplanting hair extracts from another region of hair on my body to the front but this is not that effective and could lead to hair loss from the part of my body hair was extracted from. it is also very very expensive, around $15,000. i have looked into this and it is allowed in islam to treat hair loss.
the reason for that is a hair transplant is simply restoring something as it was before as opposed to adding something which i found is not allowed in islam in regards to cosmetic surgey.
but i don't have hair loss at the moment. it is just a high hairline. although i am bound to experience hair loss later in life as some male members of my family have. yet no one in my family has my genetic trait in this. i am so depressed it is affecting my entire life now. i cant leave my room. can it be argued that lowering the hairline to a 'natural' hairline would be halal, or is that going too far? what is 'natural' in all of this?
