narated abu huraira (ra): Allah's messenger :saw: said, "Allah swt says ,'i am just as my slave thinks i am, (i.e. i am able to do for him what he thinks i can do for him) and i am with him if he remembers me. If he remembers me within himself I too remember him within myself; and if he remembers me within a group of people i remember him in a group that is better than them; and if he comes one span near to me, i go one cubit nearer to him; and if he comes one cubit nearer to me, i go a distance of two outstretched arms nearer to him; and if he comes to me walking, i go to him running.'"

the purpose of posting this reminder is how many times have we remembered Allah swt at times of distress, but instead of invoking him for his help we ask him why he is not helping us? 'Why Allah swt when i am calling unto you are you not with me, not answering my prayers?!'
the reality is that Allah swt is with us all the time, and if we invoke for his help instead of complaining then he will come closer to us through our adiyas' and will help us
this hadeeth is well known and easy to remember but people quickly forget its message....
....and i remind myself before any1 else enshalah :)
