The ceremonial utterances after sneezing
Sneezing relieves a person from an internal disorder. A person is required to say (Al-Hamdullilah: all gratitude is for only Allah) after sneezing and anyone who hears him should reply by saying (Yarhamukallah: may Allah bless you). These words are meant to remind a believer that the blessings of Allah in this world and in the Hereafter are specifically for people who are grateful. According to some Ahadith, it was initiated at the dawn of mankind, when the spirit was blown into Adam and he woke up in this world2. The existence of the word (Tashmit) for these ceremonial utterances is evidence enough that they are an age old Sunnah which the Prophet Muhammad (sws) sanctioned and adopted for his own Ummah also. He is reported to have said:

When anyone of you sneezes, he should say (Al-Hamdullilah) and if his brother or companion hears these words, he should reply by saying (Yarhamukallah). And when he says (Yarhamukallah), you should say: May Allah guide you and keep you well. (Bukhari:No. 6224)

Take some allergy medicine. While you're waiting for it to kick in, take a hot shower because the hot vapor will decongest your sinuses and clear your nose (allowing you to snort it back up through the mouth and spit it out :o ). After that, try to lie down.

I've discoved that in the sujood position in salaat, the pressure going to your head also clears the sinus cavity, and that can help get allergies under control.

I have allergies and all my children have inherited them.Honey works for me but I read somewhere that babbies under 1yr stand the risk of botulism from taking it.Have you had any incidences with that?

yes i understand its not reccomended by the medical profession to give honey to infants because of that, that wa Allahu alam, best to wait till they are older than a year insha Allah.

Try locally produced honey, should be able to get some from local farmers markets

`asiya

even local honey or pasturised honey isnt safe for infants.

Infants younger than 12 months are at risk of infant botulism from eating honey. Infant botulism is a rare but serious form of food poisoning.

Honey is a known source of bacterial spores that produce Clostridium botulinum bacteria. These bacteria are typically harmless to older children and adults. But when ingested by an infant, these bacteria make a toxin that can cause infant botulism. It's unclear why this occurs in infants and not in older children or adults.

Infant botulism affects a baby's nervous system and can result in death. Signs and symptoms of infant botulism include:

* Persistent constipation
* Floppy arms, legs and neck
* Weak cry due to muscle weakness
* Weak sucking and poor feeding
* Tired all the time (lethargy)

Botulism spores may also be found in undercooked food, corn syrup and even maple syrup. For this reason, feeding an infant any of these foods is risky as well.

I've had hayfever for many years now and theres a few things that i've come across that has made it less severe

1. Apply Vaseline on the inside of the nose (by doing this the pollen won't enter the nose but will stick to the vaseline. Just wipe off and apply again
2. Fresh orange juice with a spoon of honey (local is better) and a pinch of salt. Mix properly until honey dissolves. Have twice a day.
3. Its good to start having the orange juice just before the hayfever starts instead of having it once you're into the hayfever season.

I'm sure there's others but this really helps me.

The tablets also work good. Cetrizine and Clarityn. Widely available (even poundland now!!)

go holland and barrat, i forgot the name of the tablets but they have this small tub of something and its really good. it says on it also for rhinitis dust allergy? and the packaging is blue. if u ask them for it they give it to u cos i forgot the name last yr and i went to get it they gave me the same one  they are very small white disolvable tablets, i think its something natural and its works better than the claratin etc which u get it boots

the best thing for hayfever (for me anyway) is exercise

basically, doing some intense exercise release endorphins into your system which improves your body's immune and helps fight hayfever.

i find that when i cycle into work my hayfever is not that bad compared to if i drive into work.

acupuncture and eating chillis also help the release endorphins.

also with homoeopathy... just because a certain homoeopathic medicine works for one person, doesn't necessarily mean it will work for you... so it's best to see a classical homoeopath first.

usually have hayfever around this tym every year but been having like a spoon of honey everyday since last year and alhamdulillah its gotten much better...
something abt honey being the source of natural antibodies in you which fights the hayfever? god knows but its working gradually!
