real?, where are the shadows?

Secondly how come all the buildings are bright as though the sun is in front of them, whilst clearly on some the other building is covering them, and there seems to be no cover.

Someone with photo shop and too much time...

i see shadows on the back part of buildings n they all r bright in the part where light frm sun is ,,, it seems a good perspective view to me and believe me,,i am in 4th year of architecture study, n we studied buildings, photoshop, autocad, archicad n more programs 4 building,,,i am not saying tht this cannot be done by smn good at a design program but i am saying tht it can be real as well,,,

i think you missed my point, the Shadow of the building closest to the supposed sun should fall on the buildings behind it? If you look in the middle section of the photo, many buildings are in the line of the shadow of the building in front of it. I am not saying the shadow is directly to the back, it is to an angle from NE to SWW, however the shadow magically doesn't fall on it. I am just sharing my thoughts on it, because this photo came around at work as well, and we built some of those buildings, so we had an interesting discussion on it :)...

It is in fact an interesting point.

Didn't think of it myself, but it's got me wondering now. Hmmm...

Low cloud layers can produce that image. Here is one of Chicago with a cloud ceiling at 900':

Im a photoshop user<<<< but thats not the reason Im going to say this pic is fake, the reason is because

its funny how in that whole picture there is only one area where there are tall buildings..,

what I mean by that is. dubai has mannnny tall buildings.. so naturally you should be able to see loaaaddss but there's only one area where there is a number of tall buildings and doesnt add up, also the shadows that hit the buildings are;nt right nor natural nor are they correct

I could be wrong.. most likely I am lol

Also if I am wrong I can atleast explain why there are sooo many clouds covering those buildings and dubai :D

That being sheikh zayed road and having gone up and down it like a 100 times there are no tall building surrounding it.. all the tall buildings of that view are on that road.... go around it and they are all flat buildings no other tall buildings along that strip

so i assume it is real,,,also i saw on other forum a pic frm the same place but other perspective which supported the idea tht this pic is real,,,n i see shadows, individual shadows on building n there is fog so down cannot be shadows, n cuse of big distance between buildings n the sun's position there r not so many shadows...

I actually found it highly overrated and pretentious in a myriad of ways. You rarely if ever have anyone initiate salams to you from the moment you step off the plane to every day encounters and it's all a little too commercialised for my liking. Besides I love dining el fresco and greenery which Dubai seems devoid of.

And the sisters there really need to get over themselves. Strutting around all the Malls with your entire multi-coloured fringe on show with make-up so thick you could scrape it off, hardly denotes modesty to me.

Give me Oman any day.

I agree totally!!! It;s hugely over rated... nothing much to do apart from Wild Wadi.. which i admit was fun!!!
