MashaAllah - so many folk have been married for so long.

Feeling slightly ashamed here for having spoken to people elsewhere on the forum in a silly way and then finding out they're probably as old as my parents :(.

Would never dare speak like that in real life. One of the downsides to arguing over the internet.

It's OK Joha. We old-timers can take the heat.

lol, I can tell...just feels weird (and probably a bit wrong - if I can do it here, might do it some day in real life, which would have unpleasant consequences :D)

I think both partners need to implement ^ this, and also, initially, their families have to implement this to a certain extent as well.

Mashaa Allah, 25 years! congratulations to you and your wife akhi

you got me beat by five years. its kinda funny, i remember back when my parents celebrated their 25th anniversary and thinking wow, they are so old.

hmm, now it doesnt seem old at all, lol.

Inshaa Allah, you and your wife will have a happy and healthy 25 more!

before i was married, back when i was still a student i was a waitress and i never forgot this elderly couple that often came in.. on weekends they would play classical type music and some people would dance. one evening they were so cute, she was even sitting on his lap and they danced and were just so romantic looking that everyone noticed them. i was their waitress and made a comment about how lovely they looked together. they told me they were celebrating their 60th wedding anniversary, they were both 80.

i never forgot them... they always behaved like newly weds

once you both experience good times with each other, work together to give each other happiness everyday and always feel those good feelings. You'll naturally love and want to stay with someone whom with you are happy.
