Username

I have an account from some time ago, and was wondering if i could change it, as its quite immature. Also how do you get avaters? JazakhAllah Khairan for helping me.

well if its a while since you used the account, why not just make a new one in the username that you want. We don't allow username changes without a valid reason (e.g. a non Muslim user becoming Muslim and wanting an Islamic name) - you get avatars when you have done 100 posts and your username changes from grey to blue. Then you can go to user CP and upload an avatar for yourself inshaAllah.

What about if a financial contribution to the site is made?

:rubeyes: well you could ask sajid, he runs the forum, but I don't think we let forum users buy their way into having stuff we don't normally let other users have. Regarding avatars and stuff, you can buy premium membership and get extra benefits like being able to post images in your signature. Its not expensive, like one pound a month I think (unless its gone up and no-one told me)

Regarding chnging your username, you haven't really explained the reason why you want to change it. If you don't want to explain here you can explain in helpdesk. If its a good enough reason then we can change it without any financial contribution lol.

LoL Jazakh'Allah Khair! The reason i wanted to change it, is because i think its a bit immature. Ive actually been a member of this forum for quite some time so i dont want people to think im a newby. Maybe they will pick on me>? Thanks anyway though i feel so happy i think i will go out for a walk for now and think about this.

well you'll have to post in helpdesk from your old account, and inshaAllah we can discuss it inshaAllah. I can't promise anythnig cause its up to the team as a whole not just me. But we can consider it inshaAllah.

one thing I will say thouhg, is that when we do allow username changes, unless its a secuirty reason, we ask the person to make it clear who they used to be, otherwise people get confused.

lol i am just joking, Mash'Allah no one has picked on me, and even if they have i know this is most definately the work of a few jokers foreign to this site only!

Jazakh'Allah Khair for your help! I feel as though a door has been opened for me! But to be honest i dont want to take advantage of the system so i will most likely not pursue this further, as this is reserved for the truely needy!

P.s. I am currently drinking cranberry juice. I have poured some for you people too. If you are unable to collect it, i will drink it for you and tell you how nice it is if you like? :)
