Im sure we have some members here who love chatting on the phone so the question is as the thread title suggests, how long do you spend in time on the phone?

I for one am not a person who likes to chat a lot on the phone, gives me headache honestly.

But then again, there are some people who spend alot of time on the phone talking about whatever it is.

So, what is your phone usage like? :)

Assalamualaykum,

...To be honest there's really no need for me to use my mobile/housephone for talking. I only talk on the phone if it's necessary. I do, however, use my phone to text people - but i'm not Mr extravagant (i'm on 'pay as you go' you see, so i'm chiptow [tight] - lol). My main form of communication is 'MSN Messenger', however, exams and revision have limited the number ofhours i spend on msn each day.

Anyway, Wassalam!!!

um...shouldn't the "more than 30 minutes" be combined with the "less than an hour?" I only bring this up as it would be my choice.

As Anna stated, it depends on who it is. Most of my daily calls add up to under an hour. I have been making a lot of medical calls for my son lately, and on those days, my calls add up to over an hour. It is only due to email that I do not spend a lot more time on the phone.

I rarely if ever use the phone. Don't have a mobile either.

I have a cell phone, I hate talking on the phone. If someone calls me, I'll most likely only speak to them for a couple minutes. I mainly only use my phone to play games and to check basketball scores when I'm at school.

I use my phone quite a lot, most days i chat more than one hour on the phone, text a lot too, don't know what i'd do without my mobile lol but i'm trying not to use it too much...(just realised within the past one year i have used my phone to make calls for a total duration of almost 600 hours lol)...Alhamdulillah during the past week i dont think i have used it for more than one hour, hope i keep it up Inshallah :)

You should hear this girl in class, she can talk for Britain. She talked all morning. She got her phone confiscated, only allowed it at break :p

"I wont convert for (weird name) but I might convert for faizel"
"I aint gonna give up pork"
"I can keep my first name but I have to change my surname... I'm gonna choose Khan" :S

I talk for like less than a minute these days.

Ok, the question that now needs to be asked is "why do women/girls spend so long talking on the phone?"

I use to work at a phone survey place, so I don't really like phones. I have a cell, but I usually call my dad to pick me up, or text my brother to bother him. Most I'll spend is 1-2mins.

My usual phone calls last around 7 seconds:

*ring ring....ring ring* "Get here in 15 mins, ok, good, cya."

But recently I did have a 48 min covnersation with an old friend, we were catching up after many months of no contact.

About 1 second. All I get is junk calls, and I slam the phone down on them.

I'll not much a phone user .. i hardly call anybody ...

my only talk to my 2 sisters and 2 aunties .. whom normally call me ...

the amount of time on each converstaion depends on how long its been since the last time i talked to them ... a conversation can last anywhere in between 1/2 minute to over an hour :o

I talk to them to keep them happy ... if it were up to me, id never talk on the phone in the form of chit chat.

I'm more of an 'online' person ... and its a whole different story! :o

I went back to contract. 3000 minutes (50 hours), plus 75 text messages for £15 for T-Mobile numbers, or £30 for every network. You can buy text bundles for around £1.50

Abu Mubarak, dont you have anything better or something more constructive to do with your time than sit and take the p*iss out of people because you feel like it?

You may think your funny and amusing but the last laugh and joke is on you, nobody else.

not more than 10 mins per time, and thats about 3 times a week on average :p i prefer to see ppl in person its much more personable, although phones are great for keeping in touch in one sense, in another they made us loose touch a way, back in the day ppl would call round, and visit each other and spend time together but often these days a phone call suffices.

I reckon thats a conservative estimate! :rotfl:

Me, I have not once stayed within my 300 free minutes on my mobile. And I won't even mention the landline...

It's good to talk! :D

You're joking!

I'm with O2, 300 minutes and 100 texts for 25 a month! Contracts up in June, I'm off to Virgin...

I'm with O2 Unlimited. With that you can get 11,000 minutes and 11,000 texts, but don't get too excited, its only to other o2 mobiles!

Its £15 a month. Worth it for me because most the people I speak to are on O2.
