Salams brothers and sisters. I live in the UK and seem to hate the environment we live in. Don't feel i can practice Islam here. I want to learn more about Islam. I'm studying at University at the moment to help me get a job later in life. However, i'm not happy studying either. I want to move away from here...go somewhere where i can seek knowledge and practice Islam. Anyone have any suggestions about what i could do? I could go abroad n study Islam, but i dont know much about this. Anyone have any information, please let me know.

Jazakallah

Continue your university education. If you want to move elsewhere, your degree will open far more doors for you. The alternative would be to find a husband in a muslim country. The one problem with that is trying to find the right man who won't see you as a passport to a life in the west.

Or she can marry someone who already lives in the West (and who wants to move out) and move with him.

islam can be practiced anywhere

and is a deen that is easy

it does not require us to become monks

one can live a full and islamic life anywhere

there are no muslim countries under shariah law

make the effort of dawah inshaallah and be steadfast in prayers..the harder the environment..the more the reward and spiritual benefit inshaallah

At the moment I'm also in the West surrounded by non-Muslims, Im the only Muslim in my program and in my flat but I dont find its hard to practice Islam and keep my hijab. Its YOU who can make things work out Islamically no matter where you are, environment has influence but not in a big way in my opinion. People can even change to worse eventhough they are in Islamic/Muslim environment. Being at uni, ure surrounded by educated people so they are to a large extent I believe open minded to people of diffrent background.

Finish your education. Your degree will create a lot of opportunities for you in Muslim countries. Don't consider moving out just yet.

Asalamu alaykum Sister in Islam,

My advise is make your intention to make hijra for the sake of Allah.
I know many people who are in your position, may Allah make it easier for all of us.

In regards to living in a Muslim country, its very hard without a Mahram. One brothers naseeha, about getting married, is very Good naseeha.

Just when you meet a prospective brother, disclose your plans.. and niyaats.. so that you see eye to eye.

In regards to studies.. do a TEFL course.. as its shorter.. straight to the point and insh'Allah you can get work Teaching English as Foreign language to women, insh'Allah.. and my advise to insh'Allah future hubby as well..

Too many times sisters get asked to leave, as they have no mahrams.. its not BAD being on your own.. but just gets very difficult.

May ALlah accept your niyat.. that is our fitrah.. to live "baina Muslimeen" :lailah:

Allah ma'akum

I doubt you'll find a Muslim country where you're more free to practise Islam than in the UK that is without cultural baggage or sectarian issues causing you more stress!

no such a thing

lets get this right, there is no muslim country in the world. Even the so called muslim countries are not really muslim rather worse then the west. So intead of hating the environment and trying to get out of it try to adopt to it and try your best to follow islam. One country which gives religious and cultural freedom then anywhere else is canada, not sure about UK but i hear things such as discrimination....
