I download recitations from the internet to aid me to learn surahs, so i can pronounce correctly.

However, all of the recitors seem to pronounce things differently, not majorly different but some minor differences.

For example, with double fatha or kasra or damma things, like an 'an' or 'in' 'un' at the end of a word. Some recitors will pronounce that, some won't.

Now im no expert at reading arabic, my skills are very basic. And im not fluent in reading arabic. I rely heavily upon the sign things, like shaddah etc. I have little knowledge of how to recite the quran. The fact that these recitors pronounce differently confuses me even more.

Is your salah valid if you pronounce something wrong? I fear changing the whole meaning of the word!

I have some other questions relating to reading arabic and the quran:

When a word has a ta marboota at the end http://www.les-ziboux.rasama.org/images-touches/ta-marbuta.png how do you know whether to pronounce it or not. Like some words you will say 't' at the end, others it will just be a 'h' sound.

Do you always pronounce the word in the way the tashkeel in the quran is showing you?
When i listen to recitors and then look in the quran, not every tashkeel is pronounced. Like you should be saying 'i' if theres a kasra or 'a' if its a fatha or 'un' if its a double damma at the end of words. Do you know what i mean?

I had some other questions but ive forgotton them now..

Does anyone have any websites explaining the rules of reciting quran in a simple way? I know theres lots of complicated rules about how long to stress things and all this other complicated stuff. Im so confused ! Are all the complicated rules like what bits to stress, raise, lower your voice etc just for proffestionals etc?

I hope ive explained things clearly

until u learned the rules, u cd get one of those colour coded mushaf which puts the colours according to how it is read, so it helps you. i tried to google for u n get the specific one i mean but i cnt find it, insha allah u cn ask them in islamic book shops if u want to get it.
also if ur not sure about mistakes, is there someone u can check ur recitation with? i mean that u recite to them and they will take out ur mistakes and make sure u have done it properly. that way u will feel confident to read those surahs in ur salah insha allah. if there is noone available in ur area or u dnt know ne1 who can do it, u may be able to find someone here who cn do it via paltalk or something?

as for the ta marbuta, the difference of prn this depends on what follows it. if u are continuing and u read a sound on that letter (grammatically it mst hav something on it, dama kasra fatha or those with tanween..) then u will prn it as a t + the sound of what is on it. if it is the end of ur sentence or u are stopping there u dont prn these vowels on the end of the sentence, so u prn the ta marbuta as a h. do u understand how i mean, not so easy to explain :S

insha allah u cn try this link it might b useful

Jezzak Allah khair for your help and the website. im a sister so cant really go to classes talk online etc/.

I still dont understand why diff recitors recite differently if the rules are the same?

So you mean if the first letter of the word, following the word with the ta marboota at the end, has tashkeel on it, then yu pronounce it 't'. But if its the end of the sentence or your stopping you just pronounce it as a 'h'. It is hard to explain lol, but thank you for your help. What do you mean by you dont pronunce the vowels on the end of the sentnce?

no i dnt mean the tashkeel on the word following, bt on the end of the word which finishes with the ta marbuta as its last letter...

i wasnt sure if ur a bro or sis.. well there are some classes for sisters alhamdulillah, bt where are u based, it can depend on location if its available.

if u want online u can get a program like paltalk or skype or even on msn, and activate the voice chat with a sister (if u have a mic..) it can b quite helpful. we had a room for this on paltalk b4 with some of the sisters from this forum, we had it password protected etc so quite secure. hasnt been used for a while... but if u do hav paltalk insha allah u cn pm me ur name on there n i cn add u n try to get something reorganised with the room
