On shared outlook mail boxes if you read an email and then make it un-read.. does it appear on others outlook as read or unread email??

yup, it changes it for everyone..

so annoying when that happens...

u end finding out there is loads of stuff that needs to be done..because someone else read the email :smack:

best thing to do...

go to view menu > preview pane...so u have a preview of the message.

then go tool>options>other> and under the "preview pane" section click the "preview pane box" and untick the top 2 boxes.

this way, u can read the messages, and only if u double click the message will it appear as read..

Akhee when I worked on placement we had outlook, we had a group inbox and the receptionist whenever she went on lunch, I would on most occasions be left on her duty – we would get loads of e-mails regarding cases to assign - i.e. someone with a software problem, hardware broke down, some were so tedious :eek: it was SubhanAllah so strange to think these people are computing ‘professionals’ so we would get a lot- and everyone had access to the group inbox, if someone read the mail then it would be unread, but if you left click and select ‘mark as unread’ it will become unread

I remember calculating the busiest time for cases and plan my lunch then beforehand i.e. tell the boss ‘I’m having lunch at 1PM today’ so when that time came she’d have to pick some other sap to do the tedious job of assigning cases to the team :p
