I know this has probably been done a million times before but I couldn't find it so here goes...

Don't have a clue what languages to put so I'll just guess...

Pashto (Afghanistan’s national language). (Don’t think most of us here actually speak our first-languages properly. Those that do, it’s usually “broken.” Some parents tried be strict about their kids learning it but it’s hard. If we don’t know our language it or if know it broken, then there is no way the next generation (our kids) will know it…)

It was broken French mixed with English, since Montreal was the first place we moved to when we came to Canada, but I forgot it all once I moved to an English city when I was 4 1/2. My parents told me I loved saying au secours a lot.

:salams: I consider English my first language, but I speak Somali only to my grandparents because my parents know English anyway. They speak to me in Somali and I reply in English. Even though when I was young the first language I spoke was Swahili, I still consider English as my first language.

Inshaa Allaah, I'm itching to re-learn Swahili and Arabic.
