When people don't use the word 'lol' on forums? Or when they don't use emoticons? Do you think they're being cold and nasty?

Thoughts :

You never really give me that much options to choose from, how ever I think it shows what kind of person they are. Reading between the lines. Also some other people dont know how to use them.

It dont bother me :D

What kind of person would you think they are?

Personally : I dont think people should judge based on that > we should focus on the content of the post more i.e. what they are actually saying

ugh

Well I think that they wouldnt prefer to use it, like me when I start a theard I colour it. so that reflects me a extragant person, but when I use big words and bad spelling I look lazy lolz

Nah I dont think about how they have said it but what they have said.

Not really : but some people start hating when they see somebody like that : they probably think them big-headed or unwilling to socialise. I just wanted to know what everybody thought.

I prefer the first and second, I use the first though so that people concentrate on what I'm saying rather than how my post looks. the rolls eyes I particularly dislike : It makes me wonder what I've done wrong, and the smiley face just looks a little patronising : but again depending on the context. I dislike the word 'lol' also : however used it yesterday for the first time since a brother made me laugh. I'm just waiting for an emo-worthy post.

Reflect, I think you reflect too much. Dont worry so much.

but yes sometimes smillies and stuff are nice. They can lighten up the mood or add an element of subtlety.

I think you'd wise when you don't use too much "lol" as excessive laughing isn't permitted in Islaam. And smilies shouldn't be used too much, cos it jus makes ur post look tooo informal and also with the opposite gender, it should be prevented or decreased atleast. :) Just my opnion.

The use of emoticons and lol etc help to draw a picture of what the person is like. Without it we dont know how a persons humour works, or how their sarcasm is etc.

Sometimes I feel lazy and wont put in a **roll eyes** or :p or whatever in a post, but I like to think ppl know that Im being jokey cos of my past record. ya get me ?
