Have you ever prayed outside in the open and where have you prayed?

As the weather is picking up :masha: I really really want to pray outside in the open and plan to do so :insha:

It’s somewhere simple- my back garden but I really would love to pray Zuhr and Asr outside when it’s sunny and I can feel a gentle breeze whilst praying.

I have prayed outside before but that was with thousands of people in various Muslim countries but :sub: people pray on mountain tops and all sorts of other places.

The feeling is hard to describe but you get so much peace praying outside- I find I can focus more and it brings me a lot of tranquillity :ahb:

Where have you prayed out in the open? And what sort of feelings did it evoke from you?

:sub: how lucky those people are who go for Hajj.

:sub: i miss those feelings a lot :crying: :(

I once prayed in an open field on a warm summers day thinking it would be quite pleasant but actually the grass was very dry like hay and felt prickly against my skin when I did sujood so it wasn't nice at all:o

In the summertime, I often pray outside on my balcony (7 floors up). It is quite an experience. The only drawback is that my balcony is concrete and my prayer mat is not very thick, so my left ankle tends to hurt when it is sat on for tashahhud.

I recited the Shahada in November (2007), and with all the snow we have had this winter I have not prayed outside, yet. I do plan to pray outside when the weather gets better, insha'Allah.

Only once proper outside but that was a Funeral prayer. The other time was at the Fasial Masjid in Pakistan, the place i was praying was out in the open.

On the plane 39,000 feet in the air, Masha'Allah that was an amazing feeling, I was thinking how close must I be to my Allah.

Other than that football pitch, motorway service stations, regents park, hyde park, on the street for jummah when it was packed.

Anywhere and everywhere when it's time and I can't get to a masjid.

if no one can see you then it isn't a problem.

Total seclusion :sub: - best way too

Unless your in a big group then that feeling is also sublime :sub:

prayed outside in the open and where have you prayed?

Speaking of praying outside. Today was my first time to see a mosque over crowed. so overcrowded that many people were praying outside despite having 3 mosques in the city . :75:
I guess our numbers in the west is growing:)
The irony was that a few days ago we were talking about mosques never being over crowed to the extent people pray outside in in western countries

It's what we call a kramat. A grave of one of our pious people of old.

Not that long really since you can drive up most of the way. Maybe an hour or two.

yeh i have but like gucci said i think we are better inside?
even when ppl cant see still, bc of that its said best prayer is inside the house, then further more inside her room or in a small more secluded place right?
so i only prayed outside when had to because there isnt any other place.

I used to have a room at work to pray in, but since the company has expanded and hired more people, I don't have a room to pray in anymore so now I drive to the back of the parking lot and every day I pray my Zuhr and Asr there. Trust me, it feels much better while praying outside. Great feeling and I find it a little easier to concentrate.
