View Full Version : Can a man waive his right to verbal divorce?
Salam Alaykum,
I would like to know if a married man can waive his right to pronounce a verbal divorce according to the Four Fiqhi schools, and if so, what is the process he should go through in order to waive this right?
Wa Salam.
:wswrwb: i dont understand the question, why would a man want to waive his right to be able to prounounce divorce u dont know what the future will hold even in the case of a woman seeking khula the man has to give verbal release to his wife in front of the qadhi. u need to ask a scolar about this.

The man is afraid that he may pronounce divorce by mistake (which would be counted), or say words effecting divorce without intention (which would also be a valid divorce).
So for that he would like to waive this right and make it in such a way so that a divorce will be valid only through a court, etc.
