Well as I say, I read every night so I would guess on average, for the last 2 years at least..............I probably read Quran from start to finsh over the course of 2 months I guess..............sometimes a couple of hours reading, other times 10 minutes or so.

..ive read Qur'an in arabic...but never read the whole Qur'an in english.
i usually just, read the ayat which i feel really confused about..or need info on in both arabic and english.
i think reading Qur'an in arabic is soo important...cause i dont think you get the same feeling when its read in english.
...its weird though...cause i cant read Qur'an in english only...i either have to read it both in arabic and english or just in arabic...i sound like a freshy..lol!

Now this may sound weird so bear with me Sis...............if my eyes are dreary and sleepy..........I close the Quran, kiss both sides, then ALHAMDULIAH!! I can read a couple more pages before they go again. :)

insha'Allah you should make it a daily thing....make sure you read at least one surah (or part, if its quiet long) every day...and wallah, you will definately notice a difference...its sooo beautiful!!!
...and you'll feel really weird if you have'nt read any Qur'an that day because...its becomes a habit!

I read both...I have never finished the Arabic one though because I need to continuously go back to the English translation (I can understand only something from the Arabic text). I will insha'Allah

When I was young, used to read in arabic only. Twas ok...but I find understanding as well to be much more beneficial.

Alhamdulillah, now I like to read page of arabic, then translation, page of arabic, then english translation. Alhamdulillah, finished the Qur'an from start to finish once. At least now I have an idea, so when someone says 'in the Qur'an it says' or 'I don't know if its Qur'an or Hadith' I have some sort of idea. Before I wouldn't have a clue. Alhamdulillah.

I found this very beneficial for me. It helps in learning arabic words as well...definitely...SubhanAllah.

One of my friends I know plays a Qari's mp3 recital of the verses and follows through the translation at the same time. MashaAllah, his recitation is very nice, but he likes to do this way. Perhaps those of us who aren't yet able to recite Arabic yet might find this a useful technique. Actually this brother became Muslim recently, maybe it is a habit from before his learning to read the Arabic.

He studied with a local teacher in the masjid. Now his recital is superb MashaAllah. People can't even tell that he only recently became Muslim. I ain't just going on about this for nothing. I'm just saying...when Allah swt helps someone, its possible. SubhanAllah.

May Allah increase us all in knowledge of the Qur'an. May He improve our recitation of the Qur'an. I ask Allah swt to give those of us who cannot recite in Arabic the assistance and guidance in learning to do so. And I ask Allah swt to improve our recitation, so that we may recite in a way that pleases Him. Ameen.

Just a point of clarification: the English version is NOT the Quran... it is the English translation. The Quran, the speech of Allah (:Swt:), is in Arabic only.

That being said, I cannot fully read Arabic yet (I have come along way in a year but I still am not quite there). I have read the translation and soon, :insha:, I will be able to read the real Quran and not rely on another's translation.
