I know in the States, there was a Muslim named Kaysar in Big Brother. And in Survivor during one season, I think there was one. Or the guy just liked having tattoos of Islamic things on his body.

So would you go on one? If so which one?

Unless I wanted to make a fool of myself, no.

I don't think all of those shows would make fools out of you. Some look fun, like Fear Factor and Hell's Kitchen.

I don't know what those are about, all I remember was george galloway on big brother, and i have thought of him as a fool ever since, a media attention-grabbing whore of a man.

Everyone who goes on Big Brother is like that.

Fear Factor isn't so bad, you have to do extreme stunts and other things to win money. There are 3 things you have to do, and each round someone is eliminated.

Hell's Kitchen (I was joking about wanting to be on that) is where chefs go and try to get a job with Gordon Ramsey. All the while he is swearing at you and calling you a donkey if you mess up. It's really good though, if you don't mind the swearing.

Is that the show on City? I've never watched it. I know there is a Somali (don't know if she is Muslim or not) who is on America's Next Top Model. She's not that good though...

Why wouldn't pop idol count? If you are on tv, competeting, and you are not an actor, then it's reality tv. Game Shows count too.

So an Apprentice type show?

I don't think I'd appear on a reality show cos' i'm too scared to go on fear factor and a lot of the others (like bb or wife swap) would involve living in a house with strange men n' stuff. Also the programme makers are such agent provocateurs; they'd deliberately put someone like me as a practising Muslimah face to face with some real freak show transexual murtad/athiest clown just for the entertainment value. That in itself would be enough to put me off as I wouldn't trust the programme makers to show any respect or integrity towards my beliefs.

Although I disagree with getting involved in such things but I respect the Muslim family who took part in wife swap because it's rare for us to see a normal, practising Muslim family in the media and they withstood the pressures of what was happening around them quite well. I think the parents' intentions were sincere as they possibly wanted the nation to see the less publicised normality of a practising Muslim household but I still think the actual action of participation was an incorrect thing to do.

No, I would not be on any of these so-called reality shows.

It is rather sad to see that people are addicted to watching these shows. They can't wait to see them, they can't wait to talk about them, all the while making fun of some and picking others apart.

Did you actual watch it? I felt bad the first time I saw her, she got a lot of girls angry with her comments and seemed to get into a fight almost every week. When I told my brother about her, while he was watching with me, I said she's Somali and he said, "Oh that's why she has everyone angry. It makes sense now." :(
