Salam'alikum,
Can anyone please tell me if Imam Qurtubi was an authentic scholar, and how authentic/good is his tafsir of the Qur'an?

please give proofs if possible

Are you referring to Imam Abu Abdullah al-Qurtabi (Alayhi Rahmah)?
If so, he was a famous Maliki jurist! He specialised in Fiqh and Hadith. The breadth and depth of his scholarship are evident in his writings. The most famous of them you will find is most probably his twenty volume Tasfir of the Holy Qur'an, 'Al Jaami' li-ahkam al-Qur'an'.
