Inshallah I hope all goes well with the masjid. If it is being built sincerely for the pleasure of Allah (swt), then I'd call it unity masjid or whatever the Arabic equivalent might be.

On the other hand, if it's built by some Kashmiri (or Sylheti or pick any racial group that acts as if the masjid is exclusively for them) baba who'll only allow people on the committee from his pind/tribe and employs people on the basis on cronyism rather than merit- then I'd call it Pendu masjid:p If they employ molvis who can't speak English and are just in it for the money then I'd call it Halva Molvi masjid.

okay just a note... if u go with one of these in the format like
masjid al muminoon... or any such plural word which has this "oon" you shouldnt do it like that, but rather make it masjid al mumineen... this applies to any, like mujahideen, saabireen, muttaqeen... or whichever.
do not spell it with "oon" because according to the arabic grammar, it is not correct.
so insha allah just do check before u go for the final decision. :up:

This could be very controversial, dhakiyyah. :) Masjid is derived from the root 'sajada' which means prostrate. It actually means the position where someone prostrate so to say Allah's masjid is not good in my opinion.

There is a verse in the Quran where Allah says "And the places of worship are for Allah (alone): So invoke not any one along with Allah;" [072:018]

meaning the masajid are for Allah. You could also say Bait Allah, the house of Allah.
