Excel problem

I cant format the background of my charts in excel??



ive attached some printscreens



when I click on a colour or texture, everything is blank

save yer work close excel then restart excel, does it do the same thing?

Ive been doing opposite



I opened up a new document and tried it, but didnt work



I just closed excel and opened up document and YEAH it worked!!!
