Yes and No :)
We will fear it because its the end of the beautifull life
You will be relaxed if you think that its a start of a brilliant life (Inshallah) :) (oh that doesnt mean that i am not scared of it :( I am :o )

I am not talking about the fear of losing the Dunya. I am talking of those people who think, "I have done enough, I cant wait to die and go to Jannah."
In other words, big headed people.
I think death aint so bad. People forget that there is such a thing as a "fate worse than death"- I'm far more afraid of that.

Happy, don't fear death, don't fear dieing, these things are a natural occurence and Allah swt is the best of planners, when he wishes to take my life, it is according to his plan and I am happy with his plan.

Whether death is the end of all life, or the beginning of the second life, I do not fear death. On the atheistic side of things, when it comes down to it, death is simply absence of life. Why should one fear it? Maybe one might fear HOW you die, because it could be painful (e.g. dying from cancer), but death itself holds nothing.
Perhaps the reason why people are often afraid of death is because it is the unknown, and people are scared of the unknown.
On the religious side of things, one might fear death, because one can no longer do good deeds, or might not have repented for sins...in other words, you might fear meeting Allah. But to me, that just is a message for me to live life to the full, while abiding by Allah's laws and submiting to Him. That way you don't have anything to fear:
[2:112]: Indeed, those who submit themselves absolutely to GOD alone, while leading a righteous life, will receive their recompense from their Lord; they have nothing to fear, nor will they grieve

Not afraid of death, but of all the formalities implied... people not wanting to tell you the truth, being embarrassed in your presence, or suffering in a hospital, the last-chance operations, slowly having to resign yourself...
Then, things left undone... places you haven t visited, people you haven t met, languages you haven t learned...
And then, all the material things, the practical arrangements : everything arranged the best, so as to minimize inheritance tax ?
Time enough to say goodbye to everyone ?
An then, light goes out, and that s it, that s all folks.
Could be worse.

I dont have any of the books infront of me so its off the top of my head....
he was in so much pain he sat up and from a bowl of water, dipped is hand and wiped it over his body, he was sweating so much. he said hes in so much pain. he also said sumink along the lies of...let me endure all the pain so my Ummah dont have to endure the pain.
Also, when the angel of death came, he was reluctant to take Muhammad saw's soul away because he didnt want to cause him pain.

can u include a source before throwing around stories no one's ever heard before?
the righteous' soul is removed so softly and peacefully and it is the unrighteous who dies a horrendous death with the angel of death grabbing the soul no mercy. prophets were the best of the best your story doesnt make sense.

That's what happens to me too, am so terrified of death, wake up in the night and am like so scared thinking this minute my soul can be pulled out! I was even more terrified after that earthquake the other day as I thought why do we all crave for this world so much and crave for money and wealth when our lives can be taken away in a blink of an eye and everything in this world will become worthless except our good deeds.
Subhan Allah sometimes I remember death excessively! It's like the thought is in my mind non stop and all the time :(
I'm scared that I will die one day and realize that I don't have enough good deeds to get to Jannah :(:(.

I think my quote in your sig fits in nicely with your post sister :rotfl:
I have mixed feelings about death.
But i feel like i havnt done enough, and theres so many people better than me. Sometimes i feel insignificant.
Theres is SO MUCH i want to do in this life, memorise the quran, learn more about my deen etcetc, but time seems to fly by and daily activities such as college seem to take up my life :(
Isnt time flying by one of the signs of the day of judgement?

That's the complete opposite of islam.
in a very famous hadith which is very relevant to todays times rasoolullah sallallahu alayhi wa sallam said that there will be a lot of muslims but they will be like filth, and their two main qualities are,
1: love for this world
2: haterd for death - and in another hadith, hatred for jihad

I think perhaps she means she's petrified of death due to the judgement that comes with it.
You yourself in your interview stated that the thing you fear most was to die the death on kufr right? Which is the same for me. So that's what i fear about death...
And whomsoever loves to meet ALLAH, then ALLAH loves to meet him. May ALLAH grant us all the death upon the path of Taqwa, and the tareeq of Muhammed :saw: Ameen.

hate of death is different to fear of death. You can accept death and want to meet Allah etc, but when you read of the difficulties surrounding death and the Day, and the possibility that you might not be good enough to enter, then you can't help but feel scared.

Hadith - Sahih Bukhari 2:422, Narrated Anas
The Prophet said, "When a human being is laid in his grave and his companions return and he even hears their foot steps, two angels come to him and make him sit and ask him: 'What did you use to say about this man, Muhammad?' He will say: 'I testify that he is Allah's slave and His Apostle.' Then it will be said to him, 'Look at your place in the Hell-Fire. Allah has given you a place in Paradise instead of it.' " The Prophet added, "The dead person will see both his places. But a non-believer or a hypocrite will say to the angels, 'I do not know, but I used to say what the people used to say! It will be said to him, 'Neither did you know nor did you take the guidance (by reciting the Quran).' Then he will be hit with an iron hammer between his two ears, and he will cry and that cry will be heard by whatever approaches him except human beings and jinns."
Hadith - Sahih Bukhari 3:810
A funeral procession passed in front of the Prophet and the people praised the deceased. The Prophet said, "It has been affirmed (Paradise)." Then another funeral procession passed by and the people talked badly of the deceased. The Prophet said, "It has been affirmed (Hell)." Allah's Apostle was asked, "O Allah's Apostle! You said it has been affirmed for both?" The Prophet said, "The testimony of the people (is accepted), (for) the believers are Allah's witnesses on the earth."

Salaams All,
This may sound crazy but, I feared death alot more before I became a Muslim. I thought about it often, cried about it sometimes..wrote poetry about it...blah blah...but now that I am a Muslim the only thing that bothers me about death is wether or not I prayed enough or did enough good deeds before I died. Im no longer afraid of death as I used to be.
ws, :o
Ya'allah..its a pretty intense question..i dunno..i cant say i remember it as often as i should..but it rele creeps me out when i think of it before sleeping and also in the bath..(me thinks a bath resembles tht of a grave)...but its rele strange because when it comes to mind i feel like doing all good deeds in a rush...(become quite competitive)..because im thinking i havent got long...:lailah:

I am okay with it. I will have to die when the time comes. Just preparing for it..
I will never know when I will die, but I expect it to happen, I'm not afraid to die, but more afraid of the grave, inshaAllah I wanna do my best in this life so *Hopefully* everything will be ok for me in the next :)

i tend to worry coz i dont wanna die empty handed, even people who spent their entire lives worshipin Allah will have regrets in the akheera so what am i? Nothin, we waste too much time and take our health and life for granted
Readin 5 times salah isnt enough, i tried to take up the habit of dhikr, its hard coz the head doesnt co-operate it keeps wanderin off
im an agnostic and i dont like the pain of death but death holds no fear. i will be sad that i will possibly never see my friends and family again.i dont fear god or his angels because i dont believe.i think that there might just be another dimension and that excites me.the last great adventure is death.

I feel "concerned" but not really scared. I have already been visited by the Angel of Death. I know the signs, and I understand the process.
However, in this process I was not one of those that came out of my body or anything like it.
Instead I was obliterated into a million pieces, then I woke up. A part of me was missing.
It was nearly a year before this part of me was "resurrected". I know it was the Angel of death because he took someone close to me during the event.
So I am concerned, hopeful that it will be different than that when the lasting event comes time...
i feel worried at the prospective of dieing and how it will happen
i feel happy about meeting allah swt
and
i feel scared about not knowing whether im in his good or bad books :(

Im not scared of dying but what will happen after that in the grave scares me because death is a taste. It will just touch you and your gone. Like Allah said every soul will taste death. Now sour taste for bad mean people and sweet for good kind people.
We has Muslims shouldn't be worried about death, for if we were on the deen properly inshaAllah we would go to Paradise, but knowing that we humans sin, we worry because we dont know what will happen in the next life, whether we go to Jannah or the Hell-fire.
