Words of wisdom
Passed their lips,
Yet I knew better,
And took no heed.
I thought them foolish,
Though I was the fool,
And continued with my ways,
Because I was so cool.
The life out wild,
Parties and late nights,
They tried to keep me safe,
But I couldn’t see the light.
Blinded by my sins,
I thought I was strong,
Until there came a time
When everything went wrong.
My entire world crashed,
Right on top of me,
And I had no one to help,
I was left cold and lonely.
But my Lord was there,
Watching and waiting,
Until his servant,
Turned back to him.
I repented for my past,
For he is Al-Raheem,
I sought for his help,
For he is Al-Mujeeb.
Finding my Lord
Was like the moon at night,
My path illuminated,
Walking towards right.
My fellow Muslims,
Follow this advice,
Life is but a few days,
Turn towards the light.
Allah is all forgiving,
The most merciful,
Repent for your sins,
And of your actions be mindful.
We must prepare for the hereafter,
For death is so near,
Remember your Lord always,
His signs are so clear.

I don't normally comment in the poetry section, because, to me, poetry is a very subjective experience and we should take from a poem what befits us at the time of reading, rather than the author's intended meaning, presuming that meaning is singular and intrinsically discernible. For me, the most important function of poetry is to awaken your own determination of it's meaning and, by extent, it's value.
Just my opinion, obviously and many will disagree.:)
However, this poem struck a chord with me and reminded me of something I once read, that may offer a small crumb of comfort to anyone who knows what the heck I've been rambling on about for the last week.:)
Sometimes you have to lose everything you have, before you can find what you truly need.
That is all.:)
