i hope this is not turning inTO A "High 5" or "Facebook" kinda site :rolleyes:
i mean whats with all the "friends" and "albums" and "backgrounds" and blah blah, bring back old ummah :(

Nothing ever stays the same people.. ummah's gone through LOADS of changes.. and I was always moaning at saj every time he did something.. but this time everyone else is even worse than me :rubeyes:

the only thing is you get distracted by all the notifications and visitor messages and such....and you kinda forget the forum threads are there :p

Guys everyone is freaked out cos of the new changes - most of you prolly not used to it and find it a big change
give it a few weeks and then u'll all get used to it
thats how its always been!
it wont turn into social groups
Friends is just a buddy list - where for example you want to mass pm all ur friends u can do so without having to search for everyone individually think of it as an email distribution list
social groups - its not longer here disabled
albums again im in 2 minds about this ill leave it for a bit and see how it goes
we have to move on cant stay behind with stuff........ :)

no you wont sis, if i can manage it i'm sure u can! i like the fact i can choose contacts and friends and change my profile page, i wish i could block all messages except from friends/contacts.

I wrote this a while ago on someones profile, it was all i knew at the time, and it covers the basic stuff,
Visitor Messages
Think of this as your own mini site, or like a blog sort of thing, you're the admin in charge of what gets posted here in the visitors messages section, if you don't want a persons comment then you throw it in da bin, i'm not sure how many messages this thing can hold, whether it'll disappear after a point or what, that i'll have to wait and see, this thign is just like the "quick reply" on the forum,, so whatever you post on the forum you can post here, with the exception of pictures, this thing doesn't allow the img tags so if you wanna post a picture you'll just have to post it as a link, oh and youtube videos should be the same, all other forum posting stuff should be the same (excluding the multi quote and quote feature, to quote you'll just have to copy the text and put it in the quote tags), oh and i'm not sure what happens when you click the "report" link, and remember this thing is public, so anything anyone posts here will be open for everyone to see.
Mini Statistics
As it's name says, it only shows a bit of your statictics, namely your join date and your post amount, you can click show all statistics to see if there's any other stats.
Friends
I'm not quite sure what new things have been added for people that's on your friends list, the only thing i remember from before was that if you disabled pm's then only those on your buddy list would be able to pm you, so i assume that feature should still be here.
The friends thing on the right hand side shows a maximum of 6 friends, to see the rest of them you'll have to click to show them all, and also on everyones profile by the friends part will be written "Befriend so and so" you click that and it'll send a friendship request to that person and if they accept then they'll appear on your friend list, (once again this too is public)
If you're viewing someones profile you'll see right beneath their user title is "send message" and "user lists", send message has two subthings, 1: send a pm. 2: post a visitor message. and user lists has three, 1: add to friends list. 2: add to contact list. 3: add to ignore list, and just below that it shows when you were last online, i'm not sure if it ignores the "appear offline" rule and shows when you were last online, or whether the previous update removed the appear offline thing from everyone and you have to click it again to appear offline.
Group Memberships
Well this hasn't been updated, it still only shows that little, yours being just the sisters section.
Recent Visitors
This is similar to the "who's online" thing on the main forum, except here it just shows the last 8 people who viewed your profile, regardless of whether they're online or not, and just below that it shows how many times your profile has been viewed.
And lastly is the "your notifications" thing which took the place of "private messages", that thing will show you all your notifications, visitor messages, pm's, picture messages (added to your album) friend requests (people who've added you to their friends list) etc
I'm not going to go into customizing your profile with colours unall, cos that's a whole topic on its own.
i think the profile message thingy is good because then hopefully there won't be too much randomness in other threads because people can just write on each other's profiles instead, unless some people start abusing it and using it as a means for chatting each other up :nono:

You're just saying that cos your profile has so many posts and stuff :|
but yeah i agree, i'll be making rounds of peoples profiles, and if i find any fitnafication going on then i'll report them, both the one doing it and the owner who didn't prevent it, so dont say i didn't warn you :nono:

first go to your album, then view the picture you want, then just right click the picture and click "copy shortcut", then go to your profile and click "customise profile", in the first group of blocks and stuff on top in the third (?) line in the center is "background image" just paste the link of the picture that you copied in there and click "save", and it'll set it as your background.

ya they should stay segregated, not used as a means for chatting to opposite gender
but those who do have them intentions would prolly much rather do their business in PM anyway :^)

yup u just tick the box where there comment is and go to bottom of the page where it says delete message and click ok :up:

it should be set to 'profile'

the profile messages are totally public and if we see anything inappropriate the people will be dealth with and infracted. also u can report visitor messages if u see someone wrote something objectionable on ur profile, either chatting up or else just rude/stupid or whatever, and yes the comments r deletable
u can delete ur own comments so thats one part of the board u can moderate lol
so theres no excuse of people saying its fitna cos u urself can prevent this by deleting your own comments - infact its more safer then the PM function
