In the name of Allah, the All Aware, the Preserver

Surah Qamar, surah number 51.

Before we begin, we should seek refuge in Allah from shaitaan the outcast and purify our intentions to be solely for Allah SWT.

We going to go back to 3 ayahs a day insha'Allah No other posts in here, just the ayaats. The ayaats will be posted, 3 ayaats in arabic, the english tranlisterated below and then once again, the english translated below that. If anyone can provide the 3 ayahs broken up from any recitor for memorisation and tajweed [to put this on your MP3 player and listen over and over] then please let me know in the discussion as I can not produce those myself.

Also, arabic word from each ayah will be highlighted in ahmar and the corresponding word in english highlighted in red aswell. This is for 2 reasons; to try to teach even a little bit of arabic and also, if you know the meaning of the keywords in the ayah, its easier to memorise the ayah.

وَالذَّارِيَاتِ ذَرْوًا
Wadh-dhaariyaati dharwa
CONSIDER the winds that scatter the dust far and wide

فَالْحَامِلَاتِ وِقْرًا
Fal Haamilaati wiqra
and those that carry the burden [of heavy clouds]

فَالْجَارِيَاتِ يُسْرًا
Fal Jaariyaati yusra
and those that speed along with gentle ease.

Ayahs 1-3

[.: Anna :.]

فَالْمُقَسِّمَاتِ أَمْرًا
Fal muqassimaati amra
and those that apportion [the gift of life] at [God’s] behest! إِنَّمَا تُوعَدُونَ لَصَادِقٌ
Innamaa too3adoona la saadiq
Verily, that which you are promised is true indeed
وَإِنَّ الدِّينَ لَوَاقِعٌ (
wa inna ad-deena la waaqi3
and, verily, judgment is bound to come

ayahs 4-6

[.: Anna :.]

وَالسَّمَاء ذَاتِ الْحُبُكِ
was-samaa2i dhaat il 7ubuk
CONSIDER the firmament full of starry paths!

إِنَّكُمْ لَفِي قَوْلٍ مُّخْتَلِفٍ
innakum la-fee qawlin mukhtalif
Verily, [O men,] you are deeply at variance as to what to believe

يُؤْفَكُ عَنْهُ مَنْ أُفِكَ
yu2faku 3anhu man ufuk
perverted in his views thereon is he who would deceive himself!

Ayahs 7-9

قُتِلَ الْخَرَّاصُونَ
qutila-l kharraasoon
They but destroy themselves, they who are given to guessing at what they cannot ascertain

الَّذِينَ هُمْ فِي غَمْرَةٍ سَاهُونَ
alladheena hum fee ghamratin saahoon
they who blunder along, in ignorance lost

يَسْأَلُونَ أَيَّانَ يَوْمُ الدِّينِ
yas2aloona ayyaana yawm ud deen

they who [mockingly] ask, “When is that Day of Judgment to be?

Ayahs 10-12

[.: Anna :.]

يَوْمَ هُمْ عَلَى النَّارِ يُفْتَنُونَ
yawma huma 3ala-n naari yuftanoon
[It will be] a Day when they will be sorely tried by the fire

ذُوقُوا فِتْنَتَكُمْ هَذَا الَّذِي كُنتُم بِهِ تَسْتَعْجِلُونَ
dhooqoo fitnatakum haadha-lladhee kuntum bihi tasta3jiloon
[and will be told:] “Taste this your trial! It is this that you were so hastily asking for!” إِنَّ الْمُتَّقِينَ فِي جَنَّاتٍ وَعُيُونٍ
inna-l muttaqeena fee jannaatin wa 3uyoon
[But,] behold, the God-conscious will find themselves amid gardens and springs,

ayahs 13-15

[.: Anna :.]

آخِذِينَ مَا آتَاهُمْ رَبُّهُمْ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا قَبْلَ ذَلِكَ مُحْسِنِينَ
aakhidheena maa aataahum rabbuhum innahum kaanoo qabla dhaalika mu7sineen
enjoying all that their Sustainer will have granted them [because], verily, they were doers of good in the past:
كَانُوا قَلِيلًا مِّنَ اللَّيْلِ مَا يَهْجَعُونَ
kaanoo qaleelan min al layli maa yahja3oon

they would lie asleep during but a small part of the night
وَبِالْأَسْحَارِ هُمْ يَسْتَغْفِرُونَ

wa bil as7aari hum yastaghfiroon
and would pray for forgiveness from their innermost hearts

ayahs 16-18

[.: Anna :.]

وَفِي أَمْوَالِهِمْ حَقٌّ لِّلسَّائِلِ وَالْمَحْرُومِ (
wa fee amwaalihim Haqqul- lis saa2ili wal maHroom
and [would assign] in all that they possessed a due share unto such as might ask [for help] and such as might suffer priva*tion

وَفِي الْأَرْضِ آيَاتٌ لِّلْمُوقِنِينَ (
wa fil ardhi aayaatun lil mowqineen
AND ON EARTH there are signs [of God’s exis*tence, visible] to all who are endowed with inner certainty

وَفِي أَنفُسِكُمْ أَفَلَا تُبْصِرُونَ
wa fee anfusikum afalaa tubsiroon
just as [there are signs thereof] within your own selves: can you not, then, see?

ayahs 19-21

[.: Anna :.]

وَفِي السَّمَاء رِزْقُكُمْ وَمَا تُوعَدُونَ
wa fis samaa2i rizqukum wa maa tow3adoon
And in heaven is [the source of] your sus*tenance [on earth] and [of] all that you are promised [for your life after death]:
فَوَرَبِّ السَّمَاء وَالْأَرْضِ إِنَّهُ لَحَقٌّ مِّثْلَ مَا أَنَّكُمْ تَنطِقُونَ
fa wa rabbi-s samaa2i wal ardhi innahu la Haqqun mithla maa annakum tanTiqoon
or, by the Sustainer of heaven and earth, this [life after death] is the very truth - as true as that you are endowed with speech!
هَلْ أَتَاكَ حَدِيثُ ضَيْفِ إِبْرَاهِيمَ الْمُكْرَمِينَ
hal aataaka Hadeethu Dayfi Ibraaheem al mukrameen?
AND HAS the story of Abraham’s honoured guests ever come within thy ken?

ayahs 22-24

إِذْ دَخَلُوا عَلَيْهِ فَقَالُوا سَلَامًا قَالَ سَلَامٌ قَوْمٌ مُّنكَرُونَ
idh dakhaloo 3alayhi faqaaloo salaaman qaala salaamun qawmun munkaroon
When those [heavenly messengers] came unto him and bade him peace, he answered, “[And upon you be] peace!” - [saying to himself,] “They are strangers.”

فَرَاغَ إِلَى أَهْلِهِ فَجَاء بِعِجْلٍ سَمِينٍ (
faraagha ila ahlihi fa jaa2a bi 3ijlin sameen
Then he turned quietly to his household, and brought forth a fat [roasted] calf,

فَقَرَّبَهُ إِلَيْهِمْ قَالَ أَلَا تَأْكُلُونَ (
fa qarrabahu ilayhim qaala a laa ta2kuloon
and placed it before them, saying, “Will you not eat?”

ayahs 25-27

فَأَوْجَسَ مِنْهُمْ خِيفَةً قَالُوا لَا تَخَفْ وَبَشَّرُوهُ بِغُلَامٍ عَلِيمٍ
fa awjasa min hum kheefatan qaaloo la takhaf wa bashsharoohu bi ghulaamin 3aleem
[And when he saw that the guests would not eat,] he became apprehensive of them; [but] they said, “Fear not” - and gave him the glad tiding of [the birth of] a son who would be endowed with deep knowledge

فَأَقْبَلَتِ امْرَأَتُهُ فِي صَرَّةٍ فَصَكَّتْ وَجْهَهَا وَقَالَتْ عَجُوزٌ عَقِيمٌ (
fa aqbalat imra2atuhu fee Sarratin fa Sakkat wajhahaa wa qaalat 3ajoozun 3aqeem
Thereupon his wife approached [the guests] with a loud cry, and struck her face [in astonishment] and exclaimed: “A barren old woman [like me]!

قَالُوا كَذَلِكَ قَالَ رَبُّكِ إِنَّهُ هُوَ الْحَكِيمُ الْعَلِيمُ
qaaloo kadhaalika qaala rabbuki innahu huw al Hakeem ul 3aleem
They answered: “Thus has thy Sustainer decreed; and, verily, He alone is truly wise, all- knowing!”

ayahs 28-30

[.: Anna :.]

قَالَ فَمَا خَطْبُكُمْ أَيُّهَا الْمُرْسَلُونَ
qaala famaa khaTbukum ayyuhaal mursaloon
Said [Abraham]: “And what [else] may you have in view, O you [heavenly] messengers?”
قَالُوا إِنَّا أُرْسِلْنَا إِلَى قَوْمٍ مُّجْرِمِينَ
qaaloo innaa ursilnaa ilaa qawmin mujrimeen
They answered: “Behold, we have been sent unto a people lost in sin,
لِنُرْسِلَ عَلَيْهِمْ حِجَارَةً مِّن طِينٍ
li nursila 3alayhim Hijaaratan min Teen
to let loose upon them stone-hard blows of chastisement

Ayahs 31-33

[.: Anna :.]

مُسَوَّمَةً عِندَ رَبِّكَ لِلْمُسْرِفِينَ
musawwamatan 3anda rabbika lil musrifeen
marked out in thy Sustainer’s sight for [the punishment of] such as have wasted their own selves.”

فَأَخْرَجْنَا مَن كَانَ فِيهَا مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ
fa akhrajnaa man kaana feehaa min al mu2mineen
And in the course of time We brought out [of Lot ’s city] such [few] believers as were there

فَمَا وَجَدْنَا فِيهَا غَيْرَ بَيْتٍ مِّنَ الْمُسْلِمِينَ
fa maa wajadnaa feehaa ghayra baytin min al muslimeen

for apart from one [single] house We did not find there any who had surrendered themselves to Us.

ayahs 34-36

[.: Anna :.]

وَتَرَكْنَا فِيهَا آيَةً لِّلَّذِينَ يَخَافُونَ الْعَذَابَ الْأَلِيمَ
wa taraknaa feehaa aayatan lilladheena yakhaafoon al 3adhaab al aleem
And so We left therein a message for those who fear the grievous suffering [which awaits all evildoers].

وَفِي مُوسَى إِذْ أَرْسَلْنَاهُ إِلَى فِرْعَوْنَ بِسُلْطَانٍ مُّبِينٍ
wa fee moosa idh arsalnaahu ila fir3awna bi sultaanin mubeen
AND IN [the story of Pharaoh and] Moses, too, [We left the same message: for] when We sent him unto Pharaoh with [Our] manifest authority,

فَتَوَلَّى بِرُكْنِهِ وَقَالَ سَاحِرٌ أَوْ مَجْنُونٌ
fa tawalla bi ruknihi wa qaala saaHirun aw majnoon
and he turned away in [the pride of] his power and said, “A sorcerer [is this Moses], or a madman!

ayahs 37-39

[.: Anna :.]

فَأَخَذْنَاهُ وَجُنُودَهُ فَنَبَذْنَاهُمْ فِي الْيَمِّ وَهُوَ مُلِيمٌ
fa akhadhnaahu wa janoodahu fa nabadhnaahum fil yammi wa huwa muleem
We seized him and his hosts, and cast them all into the sea: and [none but Pharaoh] himself was to blame [for what happened]

وَفِي عَادٍ إِذْ أَرْسَلْنَا عَلَيْهِمُ الرِّيحَ الْعَقِيمَ
wa fee 3aadin idh arsalnaa 3alayhim ar-ree7al 3aqeem
And [you have the same message] in [what happened to the tribe of] Ad, when We let loose against them that life-destroying wind

مَا تَذَرُ مِن شَيْءٍ أَتَتْ عَلَيْهِ إِلَّا جَعَلَتْهُ كَالرَّمِيمِ
maa tadharu min shay2in atat 3alayhi illaa ja3alat-hu kar-rameem
which spared nothing of what it came upon, but caused [all of] it to become like bones dead and decayed

ayahs 40-42

[.: Anna :.]

وَفِي ثَمُودَ إِذْ قِيلَ لَهُمْ تَمَتَّعُوا حَتَّى حِينٍ
wa fee thamooda idh qeela lahum tamatta3oo 7attaa 7een
And in [the story of the tribe of] Thamud, too, when they were told, “You shall enjoy your life for [but] a little while,
فَعَتَوْا عَنْ أَمْرِ رَبِّهِمْ فَأَخَذَتْهُمُ الصَّاعِقَةُ وَهُمْ يَنظُرُونَ
fa3atoo 3an amri rabbihim fa akhadhat-hum us saa3iqatu wa hum yanthuroon
after they had turned with disdain from their Sustainer’s commandment - whereupon the thunderbolt of punishment overtook them while they were [helplessly] looking on:

فَمَا اسْتَطَاعُوا مِن قِيَامٍ وَمَا كَانُوا مُنتَصِرِينَ
fa maa ista6aa3oo min qiyaamin wa maa kaanoo muntasireen
for they were unable even to rise, and could not defend themselves.

ayahs 43-45

[.: Anna :.]

وَقَوْمَ نُوحٍ مِّن قَبْلُ إِنَّهُمْ كَانُوا قَوْمًا فَاسِقِينَ
wa qawma noohin min qablu innahum kaanoo qawman faasiqeen
And [thus, too, We destroyed] Noah’s people aforetime: for they were iniquitous folk.
وَالسَّمَاء بَنَيْنَاهَا بِأَيْدٍ وَإِنَّا لَمُوسِعُونَ
was samaa2a banaynaahaa bi aydin wa innaa la mousi3oon

وَالْأَرْضَ فَرَشْنَاهَا فَنِعْمَ الْمَاهِدُونَ
wal ardha farashnaahaa fa ni3m al maahidoon

And the earth have We spread out wide - and how well have We ordered it!

ayahs 46-48

وَمِن كُلِّ شَيْءٍ خَلَقْنَا زَوْجَيْنِ لَعَلَّكُمْ تَذَكَّرُونَ
wa min kulli shay2in khalaqnaa zawjayni la3allakum tadhakkaroon
And in everything have We created oppos*ites, so that you might bear in mind [that God alone is One].
فَفِرُّوا إِلَى اللَّهِ إِنِّي لَكُم مِّنْهُ نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ
fa firroo ila Allaahi inna lakum minhu nadheerun mubeen
And so, [O Muhammad, say unto them:] “Flee unto God [from all that is false and evil]! Verily, I am a plain warner to you from Him!
وَلَا تَجْعَلُوا مَعَ اللَّهِ إِلَهًا آخَرَ إِنِّي لَكُم مِّنْهُ نَذِيرٌ مُّبِينٌ
wa laa taj3aloo ma3a Allaahi ilahan aakhara innee lakum minhu nadheerun mubeen
And do not ascribe divinity to aught side by side with God: verily, I am a plain warner to you from Him!”

49-51
