i have seen a thread but it is archived and i cant see any thread in the first 3/4 pages.. So anyways I think we should compile a list of all haraam foods.. (IN UK) so as to not cause confusion.. and jjust for people who dont know IT IS POSSIBLE for you to have a vegetarian product (eg mars) in US but have it non-vege in UK.. it says so on the websites.. Anyways here is the list i compiled (i need more with sources if possible bcause i am/was shocked when i first realised couple of weeks back that i was eating haraam chocolates (galaxy, maltesers etc) so i WANT to atleast prevent people from making teh same mistakes.. Here is my list: (will update it when people post their own product list etc so everything is on the first post)

120 Cochineal is also sometimes listed instead of the E-number. This is obtained from the blood of cochineal beetle

E422 Haram if obtained from pork/non-halal meat sources
E441 Gelatine. Same ruling as E422
E470-E483 Same ruling as E422
E542 Same ruling as E422
NOTE: the e number list is obtained from http://www.ukfoodguide.net/enumeric.htm and i have only gone through the colour section.
Also note that some of the products that were haraam (made by mars like galaxy, mars/snickers (all sizes) are now halaal (according to their website: http://www.masterfoodsconsumercare.co.uk/veg_prodlst.asp (http://%5BURL)) if their best before date is after 20 FEB 2008.. (some of them were halaal before this date too but since their date is past so 20 feb was chosen because this was date for one of the products)
