...you to perform wudu and pray?

Just out of curiousity. My friends keep telling me I take too much time, meaning I'm really slow. I need half an hour. Is that TOO much time?

My friends tell me the same thing. But its hardly something to stress about. I mean, what bad is there doing wudu and salah throughly? You can only gain more reward. That's what I tell them, now they just dont say anything anymore.

When im a college it takes me a bit of time, cos i go to my locker get my salah mat, come upstairs do wudu in the toilets which is a faff cos i have to take my hijab off and put it on, then i have to go ask the reception if i can use the first aid room to pray, then i pray, then i come out, go back to my locker and put my prayer mat away :)
So for dhur it takes me like 20-25 mins. At home probably 5-10 mins less.

you should perform wudu and prayer properly, it doesn't matter how long you take, if you want to perfect wudu and prayer...why rush?

ummm.. first it depends on the prayer :p wudu shouldnt take more than 5 minutes.. 15 mins for wudu.. WOW

and then in salah it depends which ur praying, zuhr and isha are the longest, but then it also depends on wat surahs u recite

oukhti the more time spent in the way of ALlah swt the better! no time spent of Allah and in his way is wasted!!!!

you have more time to reflect upon the words you are reciting and the du'as you r recicitng... it creates more chnace of all ur salah being accepted and not just a 1/4 or 1/3 etc

don't listen to people who tell you tht...

i once got told that i pray my normal salah like i was praying all my taraweeh salahs at once... but when i observed thm pray it was like a chicken salah.. up down up dwn finishied

so no... salah isnt meant to be mere movements... u can achieve tht through yoga, or going to the gym

it's the spiritual side you are aiming to achieve and that takes time

may Allah swt increase you in relection and prefect your salahs and increase you in the time you spend in them and help you to achieve the most you can from them, inshAllah

yeh same here! about 20 mins! but it doesn't really matter how long you take - just as long as ou pray with the right intention and with khushoo3! the more time spent worshipping Allah - better and more rewards inshAllah!!

it usually takes me about 7-8 minutes to do wudu, and then every salah is different.

to do both?

I should have been more clear.

5 Minutes to do WUDU.

3 Minutes to do 2Rakat, so You can do the math for the rest.
6 Minutes for 4Rakat.

I mean its rough, not always 3 minutes, sometimes I read longer Surahs and make longer Sujudus, usually late at night. But normal day to day as I'm in school and work its average 3 I would say. :)

It usually takes me about five minutes for wudhu and then probably on average about 2 minutes per Rakaah of salaah.

Why are people worried about taking a long time -_-
Allah says.. The best of sala's is one who reads saalah taking a long time...Meaning reading long surats.
Th longer it is the more reward and the more a peron is liked by allah.

Making a perfect wudhu and having waswaas are two different things. We shouldn't spend too long making wudhu in the case of waswaas.

Its all well taking your time to make wudhu, but we should remember not to waste too much water in the process. As for taking your time in salaah, take as long as you like! Nothing wrong with that.:)

I have no idea how long i take to do either, I'm rubbish with keeping time
