So, as the title of the thread suggests, which car should I buy? Keep in mind I'm in America, so no Renaults or anything.

Why dont u get a mini cooper? A red one with white stripes.
Or I agree with the horse, but a black horse. It'll go with the ninga complex.

Mini Cooper is too expensive. I can get a Ford Focus for like $6,000. An HHR for about $10,000, and if I'm lucky, possibly an Astra for $13,000.
A Mini is more than $20,000, which is out of my league.
As with the horse comment, I do like the idea of a horse, but it is socially unacceptable to ride a horse to the masjid for Jummah.

The only problem with white economy cars though, is that you might look like a tourist, don't you think?
For some reason that I can't completely explain I always rent a Ford Focus when I got to San Jose (which is like once a month). I don't why, but I've gotten used them and I think they're kind of fun to drive.

yes but white cars are better because they are more visible at night, thus cutting down on accidents. And they dont show dust as much as black cars.
I would recomend something like a KIA Rio or a Toyota Matrix or Yaris. They are good solid cars with good warranties and they are fairly cheap too. Me, personally, I would love to buy a smart car :D

My wife keeps talking to me about one of those. She's been driving SUVs for the past several years and apparently her pendulum is swinging clear to the other side now.

LOL I fit quite nicely in either of those cars, however, my chainsaws all ride in my truck :p

LOL one of the guys I work with at the ski hill bought a smart car 2 years ago. He used to drive 30 miles to get to work in a half ton pickup. He figures that the money that he saves on fuel makes the payment on the smart car and he gets a higher safety rating, cheaper insurance and can park it in places that no one else besides a motorcycle could fit in. He loves it.
I took it for a spin a couple of times and it handles surprisingly well.

Yeah, I'm not sure I'd take one on the track. There is definitely a fair amount of oversteer built into those things for obvious reasons.
But I mean around town sort of handling.
I can't get my wife near the track anyway, so I don't think lap times are a major consideration for her.
Besides, I bet I can run a better time in a SMART than I could in her SUV. :)

depends. Where do you live? If you live in an Arab country, that's not such a bad idea (I think). But I don't think that will settle in a place like London.

Little known fact about Calgary...there is a bylaw that says that if the police run you out of town, they have to give you a rifle and a horse...now all you have to do is figure out a way to be enough of a nuisance that they run you out without locking you up :p

I'd say go for HHR and make sure that you take the 2.0 Liter turbocharged LE5 engine.....

own automakers do.
I ve seen small american cars just flip over
for no apparent reqason.( No kidding, true story)
Get a Nissan , cheaper than Honda/Toyo and insurance will
be a lot less too. For insurance, just go online to Geico as no one
can beat their rates and you can still get a low deductible.

None of them. They're all crap. Chevy's are CRAP, unless you're buying a vette or a camaro. The focus isn't that bad, but it's outdated. The staturn....boring grandpa! Not much more to say.
The Mazda 3 Hatchback is a way better car. You could opt for a Golf, also way better. You could go for an Xterra, also kinda cool. There are a whole lot of really good or great cars, but for some reason you've narrowed them down to the crappest three! :scratch:

me too I want a mini (as I said earlier in the thread) and I also need to learn how to drive properly first. I'm not so good with big machines, my reflexes are too fast and then the car gets confused :(
That's why I also go with horse.

Well that's when you have 2 vehicles...one to be fuel efficient when it's just one or two of you and another for when the whole family heads out :D

If money falls short, I'll get the Focus. I have a friend who has one and he says it's a dream to have.
If I have more than $10,000, the Chevrolet is mine.

Yeah u can get ur permit at 16, thats what I did and then you can get ur license soon afterward, depending on what state you live in. Its 6 months where I live, so you can get ur license as early as 16 and a half where I live .... that was my original plan but I kinda got lazy :D
