View Full Version : A Question for all Muslims
I am going to ask some Questions over here please read and what do you think?
I have been few times to saudia, once for huj and for umrahs. I have noted that saudis call Pakisatnis/indians/B.daishis MASKEEN (POOR)when they wear salwar kameez and their behaviour is not friendly even they are muslim but if you wear throp (arab's dress) they will respect you. Samilar to women if they wear full niqab or jilbab then they will be respected if you are going out for shopping or in mosque.
In Europe if you wear salwar kameez(specially Men)white people might call you EXTREMIST.
What do you think that if some1 is keeping fisty beard and wearing asian style dress would he look like a CARTOON? Is Asian dress is real Islamic dress and trouser or shirt wearing is unislamic. What is islamic code for dress? Are we not showing of our Islam by this way? Do we look respecable in front of non muslims?
Religion is internal faith and nobody cares which religion we follow until it interfares rest of the society.
Please think carefully and do not follow blindly and give your opinion. I am not against anyone I also wear salwar kameez when i go home after work.
Mostly our imams who are in Europe they come from Villages(Pakistan) and they can not read/understand anyother language except one of their mother tongue. These imams never went to Schools/Universities or to work in factories. They can not read local newspapers. They do not watch TV.
They have no knowledge about world.but they call themselves SCHOLARS.:rubeyes:They are trying to implimit their (own village)Islam.
There is need a change to make our Islam more respectful in front of others.Islam is full system of life not only wearing one dress

1) No.
2) Asian dress such as Shalwar Kameez is fine, it covers your Awrah, so it should be fine.
3) Umm depends on what your wearing and how you act.

The Shariah does not single out Clothes, it gives general guidelines an heres some of the Criteria ...
* a Muslim is prohibited from wearing clothes that resemble the opposite sex, ie. Men can't wear Saree/Skirts ...
* Men have to be Covered from the Navel to the nees at the bear minimum, the more the better ...
* Women have to be covered completely except their face and hands can be seen, if the Face is covered with the Niqaab, even better ...
* No see through clothes for either,
* No tight fitting clothes etc ...
any Clothing that does not go against the Guidelines set out in the Shariah, the Quran and the Hadiths of the Prophet :saw: it is permissible ...
We don't believe in "Personal Gods" nor do we believe that we aught to hide our own beliefs and remain indifferent ...
Out Duty as the Quran states is to Invite People to Truth and forbid the Evil ... it is then upto them whether they accept or not ...
Knowledge does not have to be Gained from the T.V and from Schools and Universities which teach only Secular education ... the Imaams may well be Much more intelligent than those who have gained their Knowledge from T.V which is Dubious and biased in many cases ...
Perfection does not Require change, imperfection does ...
Al-Islam However is Perfect ... therefore negating any need for change ..
Al-Quran, Chapter 5 : Verse 3
-----------------------------
"This day have I perfected your religion for you, completed My favour upon you, and have chosen for you Islam as your religion"
what "white" or any other people or any other people may call you is irrelevant, if the Clothing or any matter in question is Permissible, then all other opinions are irrelevant.
with regard to SHelwar Kameez, if this is not tight fitting, and confirms to the Shariah, then no problem, but a better dress for a Muslim would be the Kurta, thobe (for the Brothers), and Burqa (for the Sisters) as it covers the body better ...
regards.

i think the real issue the brother is trying to bring up has something to do with some arabs regarding Muslims from countries like Pakistan as being inferior to them.. Clearly such pride is haraam but it does exist, although some would deny it..

Asalamalikum.
To be fair they do have a rep for showing off wealth (if they have it)
Clothes, food, horses etc
There is no such thing as Muslim dress as has been said - there are just guide lines so Muslim's often dress according to their customs. Unfortunately this can lead to things like skin tight shalwar kameeze for the more lax of us :torture:
If you look nice and presentable why should you care what others think of the way you look. :torture:
Salaam to all,
I never know that mulims in Saudia Arabia looks to other muslims as decribed by MR GKM, if so may ALLAH give us HADAYA Amin.

i think hijazis are some of the nicest ppl in ksa (my in laws are hijazis)...i can't say the same for najdis though...alot of them tend to have this pompous air about them, they look down on anything non-saudi..i'm not gonna say much else on them, been around them for over 10 years now, i know them too well, unfortunately.
