I was working at lab...the whole day. The guys that work over there always turn on the radio. So I had to listen to all these love songs (loving you, care about you, take me as I am, Want to spend the rest of my life with you etc) Urgh!!!! I mean come on. I had to listen to this crap for hours:rubeyes: Some of them are still in my head...

christmas songs are worse by far.
na, don't think so. At least they're about peace, happiness, snow, snuggling up and the like. This stuff is just soggy mush.

Same things going on in Bangladesh as well. This morning while I was on my way to office I saw a few young couples walking hand-in-hand or on the rickshaw and the girl has a bunch of roses in her hand. At noon I went to lunch at restaurant with a couple of colleagues and there I saw the same thing...couples all dressed up nicely and having a romantic meal. While on my way home, saw the same thing I saw this morning...yet more people were at the streets. Turned on the radio on my car and songs played on "I just called to say"..."My heart will go on" and all that fudge-filled mushy stuff. Valentine's day has to be the cheesiest day of the year!

It's just down right annoying. If you truly love someone, express your love towards her everyday, throughout the year. You don't need a particular day to celebrate it.

yeah thats the way it should be.

Woo, I have a week off, so was indoors today, despite the fact I went out Tuesday and Wednesday. It was raining anyway. :D

ya'll got it easy. You cant of imagined my valentines day at high school. Kids walking about with bouquets of roses. girls blushing with "new love" while others walk around, the disappointment clear in their faces.
The only fun part was the candy I got. I'm a straggler, I pick up the fallen chocolate. :D

Don't know if it's me, but this year seemed the worse year by far. I was in Tesco's, and there was a special aisle in the middle full of tacky, overpriced red roses-and the men were queing round it! Why people can't see it for what it is-a commercially driven, contriived and insincere anticlimax, I really don't know.
Look on the bright side-it's nearly over, and those of us who refused to partake in this well oiled farce can sit back smugly and count the cash we didn't have to spend, and relax after not getting anxious about the whole thing!

Confession alert: I did buy bouquet of flowers and sent it at my fiancee's house (anonymously). *Sigh* even afsalim has fallen victim to this brute world of commercialization.

Well, that's why I sent it anonymously! I wouldn't want to be chased after by my father-in-law-to-be just three weeks before my wedding.

Actually the card I sent her was a 33 inches by 22 inches. I compensated it with a 2 pound chocolate cake with strawberry frosting, with her name written with vanilla.
Who am I kidding? I'm a lost cause.... *sigh*

Too much mushiness to handle in a single day.
That was one heck of a guy btw!
Valentines day is :eek3:
I cannot understand why people have to HAVE a date set to show how much they love someone - shouldn't you be doing that every day? :eek3:
As for the presents - shouldn't you express your love and appreciation by words, not by how many consumer goods he/she buys you? :eek3:

Why I hate "Valentine's Day"
How, exactly, does 5 pounds of chocolate guarenteed to either give you a belly ache or add 10 pounds to your hips say "I love you"???
Seriously... "I love you honey, here.. fatten yourself up a bit"???
And flowers.. sure they look nice, smell nice, and will be wilted and dead in two days. That's a symbol for "eternal love" isn't it.
*sigh*
But my honey loves the day. What's a girl to do?? So I took him out to dinner last night so I wouldn't have to put up with cram-packed restaraunts tonight. Beat the rush
I got a yummy dinner, he got to indulge in his special day, and no one got crushed by the other masses of people doing it. All in all, I suppose I can live with it, as compromises go. ;)
lol I hope you had fun no more illusions :p
cute. :D
