anyway...how do you draw the line between someone who is nosey and someone who is just making conversation enquiring how u are doiung etc?

People shouldn't dig too much, else they won't like the consequence...'Is that any of your concern?' is the way I end it if someone is SIMPLY being nosy..It's really annoying.

yeh buts thats just it...when is it freindly conversation..and when is it nosy? or does it depend on who the person is and how close they are?

I consider very few as my 'friends'
One is most dearest and only she can have the guts to ask me ANYTHING, and she knows i'll tell her. Vice versa.
Other friends, they KNOW when to draw a line.
Once this lass, was prodding too much, I told her to back off in not so many words. She got the message.
As for a friendly conversation, I had that problem during Hajj time. Lol. And you HAVE to be nice :p I could easily just lead the convo to another topic, or say, 'one sec i need to visit the bathroom' or 'Just a min, pops callin me' - 'or was that my mobile?'
But ure too nice..SO i dunno what answer ure actually looking for.

hmm...i guess it depends on the person cos..one person could find something as being nosey and another person won't..i guess u just have to pick up on the signs..

If you feel uncomfortable or awkward with the conversation then you know the person is being nosy.
then again some people have genuine interest and you can tell if they respond to what your saying. Nosy people just keeping listening waiting for something juicy to share with their other conspirators.

im not nosey cuz i dont like hearing long detailed answers, id much rather be the one talking... :hidban:
really dont like listening :o so im not nosey :D
listening to ppl talk gets me bored.
same thing with some of u pplz posts here too.. long = boring :outta:

its all about the person, if you know him/her well they will listen and they should know that you have trust in them for keeping things private, whereas a person who you dont know is nosey it usually means they will also do backbiting. so better to keep private with your closest ones and if your a nosey bugger then pray that Allah guides you in the right path.

Narrated Sahl bin Sa'd As-Sa'idi:
A man peeped through a hole in the door of Allah's Apostle's house, and at that time, Allah's Apostle had a Midri (an iron comb or bar) with which he was rubbing his head. So when Allah's Apostle saw him, he said (to him), "If I had been sure that you were looking at me (through the door), I would have poked your eye with this (sharp iron bar)." Allah's Apostle added, "The asking for permission to enter has been enjoined so that one may not look unlawfully (at what there is in the house without the permission of its people)."

no because there are ppl who are close to u but still have to know every little detail about your life and if they dont find out from u, they'll find a way to find out from someone else...

Same here. Most of the time I'm the one who's talking. I can say I do have a "problem" when friends are telling me stories. Then suddenly they'll be like " so what do you think?" (I tried to listen but it's a hard thing...) So I'll just think of the last thing she said and try to come with an answer. :o

lol omg wen my freinds are talking i dont even listen to more than half the things they say :hidban: and then they go, omg why is she so quiet today.... eventually one of them figures out its cuz i m not given the chance to talk ... a lot of the time i just end up interrupting anyway :up:

lol yup...
Also when a teacher is talking to me I'll be like "what is heshe saying?" lol. But I figured out I should nod my had and keep eyecontact...look away, nod again, eyecontact etc. lol Most of the times it does work. But it occurs that they ask a question and the answer is a yes or a no, but I give the wrong answer because I was not listening.:banghead:
the only time i listen is during in class but i still zone out a lot of the time and then my notes are just half sentences with question marks and "dot dot dot"... :smack:
