A little trick that works and is non toxic. Take a brown paper bag and blow it up so it resembles a hornet's nest. Tie a string around the open end and hang it by your window or doorway. When the hornets come along they will think they are in anothers territory and stay away. We have hornets around here pretty bad but last summer, despite having the door open most days, we only got 3 or 4 in the house all summer

You don't have to ring the house...just a couple of them around. If the neighbours ask what they're for and you tell them, pretty soon you will see them around their houses too. That's how it is here...almost everyone that doesn't have AC has those bags hanging on their houses

what's the point of trapping a wasp? What will you do with it?

Te'oma
13-02-08, 05:35 AM
You put some liquid in the bottle like some soda or anything with a high sugar content and they get trapped in there and drown.
One other thing about hornets and wasps is that they feed on other insects and are essentially a beneficial insect to have around unless they are too close to your home

Only 4....??? I wish I would only see four on a warm day like today where there is very little wind. They are kind of aggressive since the winter was longer than usual.
