Einstein wrote this riddle last century. He said 98% of the world would not be able to solve it. Remember there is no trick, just logic.

Good Luck!!

There are five houses in five different colours.

In each house lives a person with a different nationality.

These five owners drink a certain type of beverage, smoke a certain brand of cigar and keep a certain pet.

No owners have the same pet, smoke the same brand of cigar, or drink the same beverage.

Question: Who owns the fish?

Hints:

The Englishman lives in the red house
The Swede has a pet dog
The Dane drinks tea
The green house is on the left of the white house
The owner of the green house drinks coffee
The person who smokes Pall Mall keeps birds
The owner of the yellow house smokes Dunhill
The man living in the centre house drinks milk
The Norwegian lives in the first house
The man who smokes Blends lives next to the one who keeps cats
The man who keeps horses lives next to the one who smokes Dunhill
The owner who smokes Bluemaster drinks beer
The German smokes Prince
The Norwegian lives next to the blue house
The man who smokes Blends has a neighbour who drinks water

My intuition is that no on else ain't gonna try so go for it; although i am taking your word for it.

It's the German. I swear I didn't look it up until I was done.

I also say it's the German
Possible solution below. It seems to fit. Is this correct?

Yellow..........Blue..........Red..........Green.. ........White
Norwegian...Dane........English.....German........ Swede
Dunhill.........Blend........Pallmall.....Prince.. ........Bluemaster
Water..........Tea...........Milk...........Coffee .........Beer
Cats.............Horse.......Birds.........Fish... ..........Dog

Edit: The spaces I added for clarity have been removed. Each house is a coulmn from top tp bottom e.g. House 1 (yellow, Norwegian,Dunhill, Water, Cats). Assuming I am correct and if the story is true, then Einstein appears to have underestimated the ability of the average person.
