Just thought of this would help us know our religious personalities better. Someone would describe a known Muslim figure here and then a person answers and gets to describe the next person and so on.
For example
Q: Was the last Prophet of Allah
A: Prophet Muhammad :saw:

Ok then first question
Was a former slave who's voice turned out to be very important in Medinah and all Muslims would respond to it

Yep. al-Baraa' bin Malik (ra). For those who don't know, when the Muslims were fighting against this impostor, Musailamah, he retreated into a fort or compound since he was losing. So this Sahabi (ra) was thrown over the wall, killed the guards at the gate and opened it from the inside to allow the Muslim forces to enter. He was also the brother of the famous Sahabi Anas bin Malik (ra) (I think).

It is reported by Imam Tirmidhi in his Sahih(I think?)

Good guess. Yes, some people do say that. But scholars say that there is no concrete evidence that points to that conclusion.

:salams,

I've heard the hadith but it doesn't mention the names of the Sahabah (RA) in it! Blah. This one:

The Messenger of Allah :saw: was seated in a gathering with the Sahabah when he looked towards the entrance and said, “A man of Paradise is coming.” At that instance someone who seemed to be very ordinary entered the mosque where they were seated. A Sahabi was curious as to why the Prophet said this, so he followed the man to his house. This Sahabi told the man that he was a traveler and stayed as a guest. For three days the Sahabi saw nothing unusual, so he finally told the man what the Prophet had said and asked him what was so special. The man thought for a long time and said, “There might be one thing – before going to sleep every night I forgive everyone and sleep with a clean heart.”

Abu Dujana (RA)

In the battle of Uhud, countless acts of courage can be noted from several of the Sahaba. Abu Dujana, recognized by the red band worn round his head, came forth, fighting with the sword of the Prophet (peace be upon him). He was determined to pay its price at all costs. He slaughtered all the idolaters that stood on his way splitting and dispersing their ranks. Az-Zubair bin Al-'Awwam said, "I felt angry and discouraged when the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) refused to give me the sword but instead gave it to Abu Dujana. I said to myself, 'I am his paternal cousin. I am the cousin of his aunt Safiya. Also, I am from his tribe (Quraish). Besides, I was the first who demanded it and yet he favoured him to me. By Allah, I will watch how he will use it.' So I followed him and saw him take out his red band and wear it round his head.

Seeing him like that, the Ansar said, 'Abu Dujana has worn the red band of death'..

Then he (Abu Dujana) set out saying loudly (in the form of poetry), 'I am the one whom my intimate friend [the Prophet (peace be upon him)] made covenant with, when we were under the palm-trees on the mountain side. The covenant was that I would not fight at the rear, but fight at the front heroically with the sword of Allah and His Messenger.' During this battle no one stood the way of Abu Dujana and remained alive. There was a man among the idolaters whose only objective was to finish off the wounded Muslims. During the fight, Abu Dujana approached that man; so I (Az-Zubair bin Al-'Awwam) implored Allah that they might engage in combat. They did start fighting and exchanged two sword-strokes. The idolater swung at Abu Dujana, but he escaped it and the sword pierced into his (Abu Dujana's) leather shield. The idolater's sword now stuck to his shield, Abu Dujana lunged at that Kafir with his sword and killed him. Then into the thick of the battle, he rushed to kill a person who was inciting the enemy to fight the Muslims. Upon this the person shrieked and lo! it was a woman. Abu Dujana spared her saying, 'I respect the Prophet's (peace be upon him) sword too much to use it on a woman.' The woman was Hind bint 'Utbah (the wife of Abu Sufyan who was leading the Quraish army against the Muslims, who later became Muslim)."
[Ibn Hisham Vol. 2 pg.68-69]

Describing the same incident, Az-Zubair bin Al-'Awwam said, "I saw Abu Dujana raising a sword over the parting of Hind bint 'Utba's hair but then he moved it away. I said to myself, 'Allah and His Messenger know best.' (i.e. why he didn't kill her)."
[Ibn Hisham Vol. 2 pg. 69

During the battle of Uhud, the second most significant battle (after the victory of Badr), the Prophet (peace be upon him) urged his Companions to fight and spurred them to show stamina and steadfastness in the Jihad. He started to implant the spirit of boldness and bravery in them. To wage and inflame them and maintain their zeal in the fight, he (peace be upon him) drew his sword, held it in his hand and called out to his Sahaba and said, "Who is ready to take this sword and fulfill it's right?" Many notable Sahaba set out to take it. Amongst them were 'Ali bin Abi Talib, Az-Zubair bin Al-'Awwam and 'Umar bin Al-Khattab. But it was granted to none of them. Abu Dujana stood and inquired, "O Messenger of Allah, what is its price?" The Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "It is to strike the enemy's faces with it until it breaks!" So Abu Dujana said, "O Messenger of Allah, I will take it for that price." and he was given the sword...

Abu Dujana was a man of courage who used to stand proud and brave in war. He had a red headband that he wore round his head. Whenever he was head-banded everybody knew that he was determined to fight to death. Therefore as soon as Abu Dujana took the Prophet's (peace be upon him) sword, he banded his head and started strutting proudly amongst the Mujahideen. Upon seeing this, the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said, "This is a sort of walking that Allah detests except in such a situation (Jihad)."

A sahabi radiALLAHu anhu went to Damascus, the capital of the Islamic Khilafâh at the time and he had just been appointed governor of the place. He saw the extravagance of the Muslim Ummah. The Muslims were so wealthy at the time and the lifestyle of the Muslims was changing; they were immersed in luxury and soft living. He called the people to the masjid and spoke to them: “O people of Damascus! You are my brethren in religion, neighbors who live together and helpers one to another against enemies. O people of Damascus! What is it that prevents you from being affectionate towards me and responding to my advice while I do not seek anything from you? Is it right that I see your learned ones departing (from this world) while the ignorant among you are not learning? I see that you incline towards such things which Allah has mad you answerable for and you abandon what He has commanded you to do.
“Is it reasonable that I see you gathering and hoarding what you do not eat, and erecting buildings in which you do not live, and holding out hopes for things you cannot attain? Peoples before you have amassed wealth, made great plans and had high hopes. But it was not long before what they had amassed was destroyed, their hopes dashed and their houses turned into graves. Such were the people of ‘Ad, O people of Damascus. They filled the earth with possessions and children.
“Who is there who will purchase from me today the entire legacy of ‘Ad for two dirhams?”
The people wept and their sobs could be heard from outside the masjid.

One night when the Holy Prophet (Pbuh) prepared to perform salat, xxxxxxx stood behind him with the intention of praying in the company of the Holy Prophet (Pbuh) himself. The Prophet (Pbuh) noticing this pulled xxxxxx to his side and began to pray. No sooner had the Prophet (Pbuh) started reciting the verses when xxxxxx moved a step back to his original position behind the Holy Prophet (Pbuh). When the Prophet (Pbuh) inquired about his behaviour xxxxx replied “O Prophet (Pbuh) of Allah, who could have the audacity to stand in line with the Prophet of Allah at the time of prayers?” The Prophet (Pbuh) was so pleased at the answer that he prayed to Allah, “O Allah, bless this lad with great knowledge and increase him in intellect and wisdom”.

And Alhamdulillah, he indeed became a great scholar of Islam.

Who was that blessed Sahabi?(whose name I have replaced with xxxxxxxx)

That's correct bro! :') You give the next question then, otherwise if he doesn't then someone else. I really like the story of Ayyub (AS), of how he had everything and then lost it and had to bear trials for 7 years, and his beloved wife helped him through the severe trials and was always by his side, and in the end Allah gave them great reward for their sabr in this life and they will get even more in the next life.

So if you haven't read his (AS) story, then read it! And here's a great lecture that contains this story (though not fully?!):

That's correct bro! :') You give the next question then, otherwise if he doesn't then someone else. I really like the story of Ayyub (AS), of how he had everything and then lost it and had to bear trials for 7 years, and his beloved wife helped him through the severe trials and was always by his side, and in the end Allah gave them great reward for their sabr in this life and they will get even more in the next life.

You mentioned this hadith:

Now tell me, who was the Sahabi (RA) who was given the glad tidings of Jannah?

Q:
Anas (May Allah be pleased with him) said: Messenger of Allah (:saw:) took up a sword on the day of the battle of Uhud and said, "Who will take this sword from me?'' Everyone stretched forth his hand saying: "I will take it; I will take it". He (the Prophet (PBUH)) said, "Who will take it with its full responsibility (i.e., to use it to fight Allah's enemies with it)?'' The Companions hesitated. A companion* (May Allah be pleased with him) said: "I shall take it;'' and with it he cracked the skulls of the pagans.

Commentary for the hadith:
This Hadith mentions the chivalry and distinction of Abu Dujanah (May Allah be pleased with him) but it should not be taken to mean that other Companions of the Prophet (:saw: - PBUH) showed cowardice on that occasion. The latter had in fact hesitated to get the honour and reward attached with the Prophet's sword. It is evident from the fact that when the Prophet (:saw: - PBUH) offered it without any condition everyone stretched his hand to take it.

:salams,

Woah, haha good guess by me :coolbro:. :p

Hmmmm, next:

After the truce was signed and the Prophet (Sallallaho alaihe wasallam) had returned to Madinah, another Meccan Muslim (Radhiyallaho anho) escaped to Madinah and besought the Prophet's (Sallallaho alaihe wasallam) protection. The Prophet (Sallallaho alaihe wasallam) refused to accept his implorations and, in deference to the truce condition, handed him over to the two persons who had been deputed by the Qureysh to claim him. He, however, advised him as he had advised Hadhrat Abu Jandal (Radhiallaho anho) to be patient and to hope for the help of Allah. When he (Radhiyallaho anho) and his escort were on their way back to Mecca, he (Radhiyallaho anho) said to one of them:
"Friend, your sword is extremely fine."
The man was flattered and took it out from the sheath and said:
"Yes it is really very fine, and I have tried it on so many persons. You can have a look at it."
Most foolishly he made over the sword to him (Radhiyallaho anho), who immediately 'tried' it on its owner and killed him. The other man took to his heels and reached Madinah to report to the Prophet (Sallallaho alaihe wasallam). In the meantime he (Radhiyallaho anho) also arrived. He said to the Prophet (Sallallaho alaihe wasallam):
"0, Prophet of Allah, you once returned me and absolved yourself of the truce obligations. I had no obligations to fulfil and I managed my escape from them by this trick, as I was afraid of their forcing me to forsake my faith."
The Prophet (Sallallaho alaihe wasallam) remarked: "You are a war-monger. I wish you could be helped."

He (Radhiyallaho anho) came to understand from this that he would be returned to Qureysh again when they demanded him. He therefore left Madinah and fled to a place in the desert on the sea shore.

Who was he?

How bout I give it a try? This one is easy I think........

Cousin of Mohammed (saw), he was renowned for his care for the poor and was one of the first to embrace Islam. Facing persecution in Makkah, he led the group of Muslims who migrated to Abyssinia (now Ethiopia) and successfully represented them before the king when Quraysh emissaries sought to have them extradited. He fell in battle against Byzantine forces after his return to Arabia.

1, 3, 4 are incorrect, according to the information I have. The 3 other Hanifs were; Waraqa Ibn Nawfal, Uthman Ibn Huwairith and Ubayd'Allah Ibn Jahsh.

He converted to Christianity alongside 2 of the others during the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) early years, but prior to that he was a Hanif i.e. pure in belief and practices.

Who was the leader of the army who fought against Jalut / Goliath?

:salams,

It was Talut (was he a prophet?! If so AS).:

(249. Then when Talut set out with the army, he said: "Verily, Allah will try you by a river. So whoever drinks thereof, he is not of me; and whoever tastes it not, he is of me, except him who takes (thereof) in the hollow of his hand.'' Yet, they drank thereof, all, except a few of them. So when he had crossed it (the river), he and those who believed with him, they said: "We have no power this day against Jalut (Goliath) and his hosts.'' But those who knew with certainty that they were going to meet Allah, said: "How often has a small group overcome a mighty host by Allah's leave'' And Allah is with As-Sabirin (the patient).)

Allah states that Talut, the king of the Children of Israel, marched forth with his soldiers and the Israelites who obeyed him. His army was of eighty thousand then, according to As-Suddi, but Allah knows best. [Tafsir Ibn Kathir]

Who was the one that made the wall to block the tribes of Gog and Maggog (yajuj and majuj)?

Wassalam.

Correct. I think there are different opinions as to whether he is a prophet or not. But most people only include 25 Prophets (as) as being mentioned in the Quran and according to this, he would be excluded.

And Allah knows best.

In the battle of Uhud, when Umm Aiman had an arrow shot at her whilst tending to the wounded (by Hibban bin Al Arqa) and her clothes were lifted up, the enemy of Allah burst into laughter. This sight upset the Prophet :saw: and he a sahabi an arrow to shoot at Hibban.

Who was this Sahabi who shot the arrow and pierced the idolators throat?

you are wrong since there are two ahadith. One in which there is a mention of 'Uthman bin 'Affan (RA) and the other is Az-Zubayr bin 'Awwam (RA)

I asked a Shaykh and found out that the hadith about 'Uthman رضي الله عنه is mawdoo' (fabricated).
