i swear i don't
I posted a similar problem some time ago. I'll try to find the thread.
I changed the facts so that it wasn't so easy to just google the answer. One person did solve it.
I can only guess that the answer could be dane, i tried my best to work it all out :):embar:

I found my other post. If anyone is interested in solving another variation of this problem that I posted here a couple of months ago:
So you are standing on a street facing 5 houses of 5 different colors on the other side. In each house there lives a man of a particular nationality and religion. No two men have the same nationality and no two men are of the same religion. Each is drinking his one favorite drink, and they each have a different favorite drink.
And every Friday each eats his favorite dessert after dinner, and no two men have the same favorite dessert.
You also know:
The German man lives in a green house
The Catholic lives in a blue house
The man drinking beer will eat pie on Friday
The Frenchman is Buddhist
The Muslim is drinking tea
The man in the white house eats cake on Fridays
The owner of the purple house is drinking coffee
The first (left-most) house is red
The Englishman lives in the middle house
The man drinking water lives right next door to the man who will eat ice cream on Friday
The man who will eat fruit on Friday lives next door to the man drinking tea.
The man drinking milk is Canadian
The Buddhist lives to the immediate left (your left) of the Jew
The American lives next to a man who is drinking water
The Lutheran lives next door to a red house
The question is: who will be eating Ras Malai this Friday?

I agree, I solved this a few years ago... its no different from the logic puzzles you get in puzzle magazines like "puzzler" at the newsagent. They're fun if you have some time on your hands but personally I prefer killer soduku and Hashi. They're not that hard either but you do have to work through systematically and use logic. Probably the only reason why just 2% of people can solve it has little to do with intelligence (although you need some intelligence to understand logic to begin with) but more to do with perseverence. Only 2% of people can cope with logic and also have the time and the inclination to solve it.

One of the most true statements I've read on ummah.com!
This is true for almost everything that people find "difficult" or "confusing". It's just a matter of working at it. Almost everyone is capable of much more than they give themselves credit for.
So, on that note, who's having ras malai? :)

Sorry, I forgot about this thread. And then I realized I didn't have the answer to the question any more. :smack: (I had originally worked it out on my a whiteboard months ago)
But, I worked it out again, and of course you are both right. Well done.
