i hve chnged the thread

what if the husband called his wife mum's a slag n so on...??would that be acceptable.

would you say it is worse for the wife saying it or for the husband?
i think both are totally wrong.unless there was a valid reason why it was said.just to hurt and get back at that person by insulting their parents is a crime.

There is no valid reason to insult a husband or wife's parents. Whoever does this is irrational and immature. If one's parents are in the wrong, the husband/wife should do what they can to help them, not insult them.

And it's not worse for one or the other, it's childish and extremely damaging to the marriage relationship either way.

Both cases are as bad as each other, it isn't 'more ok' for the husband to speak badly to his in-laws than it is for the wife to speak to hers in a bad way....

Like I said before - get down to the reason and don't just jump to conclusions, subhanullah anger really does get the best of us at times and we come out of things we regret so much

Of course it is wrong

The prophet (SAW) said "Do not abuse your father"
A companion said " how can some one abuse his father"
He said "By abusing someone else's father, that person retaliates by abusing his father and so he has indirectly abused his own father"

Both threads are silly and a waste of space. As a Muslim you should know that it is unnacceptable for anyone to insult an elderly person....whether they are your mother, father, mother in law, father in law...or the next door neighbour.

It's wrong and there's no excuse for such behaviour
