I have checked numerous websites and the meaning I have is

'Its the door of heaven that opens in the month of ramadhan'

However I have been told by a source its has some bad meaning and the combination of rey(in arabic) yeh(in arabic) is not good. I dont believe that..

my net research has been deemed untrustworthy... but am wondering if any one of the people here can confirm the meaning I have by a strong source ...

Please give your meanings with a strong source... like if you have a scholar etc

thanks...

Wish I could help you there. I almost named my son Rayan, until I saw a little girl with the name 'Ray Anne'. Then I couldn't get the little girl's name out of my head every time I said 'Rayan' and didn't want him to have a name that sounded girly, so.....

Ridwan is the name of the gate into jannah, not rayan, but Allahu alam.

Not sure , if you actually mean Rehaan, which can also be written as Rayhaan meaning 'fragrant one'. It is mentioned in Surah Waaqi'ah and Surah Ar- Rahmaan.

I have heard it means the gates of heaven that open during Ramadan. But don't trust me. I am just a kafir.

YEs I have also heard this. Basil has been named Rehaan after it's fragrance.
