I apologize for asking this so late, so please answer this whenever u can. It is regarding praying for the dead. In surah 9, ayah 84, it is mentioned not to offer prayer to those who disbelief. could you please clarify this, as many people seem to offer prayer for kaafir and munafiq these days.

It is normal to include the Kaafirs in our prayers who are ALIVE and ask Allah Taa'la to guide them and to save them and us from the torment of hell. Aameen

The verse you referred to is (I think) as follows:

TRANSLITERATION:
Walaa tusallee 'Alaa ahadinminhum maata abadan walaa taqum 'Alaa qabrihiinnahum kafaroo billaahi warasoolihee wamaatoowahum faasiqoon.

TRANSLATION:
And never (O Muhammad Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam) pray (funeral prayer) for any of them (hypocrites) who dies, nor stand at his grave. Certainly they disbelieved in Allah (Taa'la) and His Messenger and died while they were Fasiqoon (rebellious, - disobedient to Allah Taa'la and His Messenger Sallallaahu Alayhi Wasallam).

The aayah is self-explanatory and what you've said is 100% right!

A great informative programme. I have always been concerned about our Ulama, whom i respect tremendously but there was always a barrier. But, Shaykh Muahlana Hafeezud Din is great! He jokes here and then, but, puts points across very well. Is he local? Arfan is doing well too.

it's just so sad seeing some muslims pray for kaafir and munafiq simply because they are the center of media attention at the moment. yet these disbelievers did so many things against islam, it's sickening.
