In the name of Allah, the Most Merciful, the All Knowing
Asalamualykum and welcome to the Ummah Islaamic Studies Memorisation Project.
Allah SWT says in Surah Mujadilah, verse 11: "Allah will exalt in degree those of you who believe, and those who have been granted knowledge.''
The Islamic Studies Project works as follows..we are studying from a book called "Islamic Studies" [how convenient] and it covers the basics of the deen. We will post a chapter every week, split into pieces throughout the week
At the end of each chapter/week, questions are set from which you have to answer. All answers are PM'd to Abu Muslimah. Questions are set on the Saturday, insha'Allah marked by the following week and then posted in a topic so everyone knows how they did.
You have to register to participate on the group study so we know who is commited and who just wants to read the title and then do a runner. You may join in at anytime but you will have to catch up in your own time.
The answers will be posted after a week so you learn the correct answers and marks will be made public to encourage competion and striving with each other do to goods so we may be like the Sabiqoon which Allah SWT mentions in Surah Waqiah [this is subject to change]

The point of this project is to learn the deen for the pleasure of Allah. Na'am we know it is better to have a teacher but for many people it is not a reality, and they wont get off their comfy couches to go get one so this is another option we are giving.
There are 3 main underlying principles when gaining knowledge. The first and foremost is to purify your intentions so they are for the sake of Allah only. The second is to implement into your life what you learn so you may please Allah SWT and the third is to teach others what you learn.
So first and foremost, lets purify our intentions, and make this project we are embarking on for the Pleasure of Allah SWT alone.
Abu Hurairah (May Allah be pleased with him) reported: The Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, "Allah makes the way to Jannah easy for him who treads the path in search of knowledge.''
