I'm not sure if this is the right section for this, but i know some people were enquiring about Muslim marital organisations, one of them being Morning dew, which is not currently active. Muslim Petals is another new organisation which specifically targets "Practicing" Muslims. I've attached the advertisement if anyone from here has already joined it and has feedback, or perhaps wants to enquire about it.

It's currently only aimed at Pakistani's because it's fairly new, running voluntarily, and wants to remain manageable. Before it can be opened up to other cultures, a team reflecting those cultures will have to be taken on board who are sensitive to their needs.

I think we can look beyond the "racist" label, looking instead to the impracticalities of a small organisation trying to cater for all cultures. Specialist organisations are out there to help parents find compatible partners for their children, some are ripping people off, this one is free.

No :sub: my comment was not directed at your organisation or what you aim to achieve. I was merely addressing the general problems that many face when it comes to marriage. If we opted for the neutral approach then there would be no need to have marriage organisations catering for particular nation or people. But hey, I think I'm too idealistic.

Since when from the time of Prophet :saw: has cultural needs weighed more heavily then what :allah: prescribes to us?
I don’t see how the needs of a Pakistani sister looking for marriage and that of a Ugandan sister are different, both desire the same thing, so why do you need Specialist organisations to be involved, assuming you mean interpreter ? :D
Put it this way, I’m no Pakistani but I fit all your criteria’s but that isn’t good enough, I can assure I’m more Muslim then Bengali, you have to remember that when matching up these sisters

When you say reflecting those cultures , are they sisters going to be at the receiving end of cudgels if they don’t marry within their own village?

The reality is, a lot of people have a preference to marry within their own culture, not because they're racist, but more so because they feel they want a partner who shares similar cultural values and sensitivities deriving from it, and who the family will also approve of. I don't think any hadith condemns a person from marrying from within their own tribe/culture, it's been left as a matter of personal choice.
Someone may point out that the age element of the advertisement is discriminatory, or perhaps the education, or professional criteria is too stringent. Surely that should also be a concern worthy issue according to your logic?
There are numerous larger agencys out there who are open for all cultures, so it's unlikely anyone is being unduly deprived..

..
cultures and nationalism will never unit Muslims it only creates division, you are right in saying it is personal choice , but when an organisation used that personal choice as it’s own preference it doesn’t do other justice, like me I match most of the criteria expect for highly educated :(
Insha'Allah hope the search goes well....

I'm not here to defend any type of marital agency, although i see absolutely nothing wrong with a muslim from a particular culture coveting to marry from their own culture, discrimination aside. In practice, many people do actually prefer to marry into a culture they are familiar with, which shouldn't neccessitate the attachmenet of an xenophobic label.
Personally, it's astounding to see someone complaining about the unlislamic nature of it, yet slander Pakistani's, it really does take the credability out of the statement. We should all seek to perfect ourselves, and refrain from illustrating hypocrisy in our actions.
